TLDR: If you have too much time on your hands and/or are a masochist, this is the perfect game for you.

Edit, our voice was (allegedly) heard!

I am writing this edit as of June 14th 2023, and will update if anything changes. Gajin finally took feedback and made a roadmap of changes they will be making over the course of the next year or so. Weather or not they'll actually follow through is another story. However I am a lot more optimistic about the game's future than I was when I first wrote this review. After I reach 2000 hours played or a year has passed since this edit was made I will rewrite my review to express my final thoughts and where I feel the game sits.

Seeing the Game Grow/Change.

Despite my records here on steam I started playing this game in 2016, Back then the game was simple, no helicopters, ATGMs, drones, or modern MBTs. I was young and interested in WW2 vehicles and I had seen Robbaz play it on YouTube and was sick of World of Tank's grind. So I downloaded it on my potato PC, picked Germany as my faction and played for while. Despite me being quite terrible at the game I enjoyed it quite a bit. I would play the game for most of my free time after school. However as I got older and more preoccupied with school, I stopped playing the game in around late 2019/early 2020, (I can't quite remember). I ended up returning in mid 2021 to play with my partner I had at the time. I started playing it on XBOX so I completely restarted, this time picking the USSR as my faction, and I realized how much I enjoyed the game and began playing it again. In January of 2022 I got an actual gaming PC to play the game. So needless to say I have seen how this game has grown and changed, in fact I remember being hyped for naval battles (I'll get to that in a bit).

Let me start this off by stating that the game is supposed to make money, this is Gaijin's goal for the game. This game is meant to be frustrating because it keeps you playing. With that out of the way let me state the good and the bad parts of the gameplay:

The GOOD:

1. Great variety in gameplay, lots of options for playstyles
2. The graphics are beautiful whilst not being demanding on your system. If your computer was made within the last 7 years and was built for gaming (ie. has a dedicated GPU), chances are you can run it at least at 60 FPS with medium settings.
3. Sound design is wonderful.
4. Community content available for PC players.

The BAD:

1. The game, despite it's age has balancing issues (particularly in top tier).
2. Some gamemodes are lackluster, naval battles in particular.
3. Premium vehicles are either average or unbalanced.
4. Russian vehicles seem to be handheld in some cases.

Conclusion

This concludes my cobbled together review of the game, It's great if you are into military vehicles and have a low self esteem.
