This is my second review after about 300 hours.
I like the game it does some crazy stuff that's pretty cool the first time you see it. I loved the 1999 stuff.
The story is surprisingly enjoyable and gripping. Implementations such as Duviri blew me away because games rarely change mechanics to that degree.

I don't think I would recommend being invested in this game however. The crafting system is atrocious. You farm up the parts to something, then farm up the materials, and then when you craft it, it will make you wait from like 12 hours to upwards of 72 hours before you can use it. Now as a veteran player that probably is fine but when you are just starting out and have nothing it feels terrible. You can use the premium currency to speed up the craft but you're pretty much wasting it if you do, considering how big of a driving force the platinum is. Platinum is pretty much the best way to secure things here and there from other players and used for cosmetics. I will say though the microtransactions are fairly cheap. It took me around 200 hours personally to progress through quests and collect all the things I needed just to have a viable build on one class. It is easier the more time you have in the game though because most things use the same items and whatnot. Bottom line is that the new player experience is awful. The gameplay can be very repetitive and if you queue matchmade the game is just easy af always. A lot of the times it feels like your abilities are very weak when a weapon just deletes stuff in half a second. My advice would be, if you are going to play this, starting out, make sure you find something you REALLY really like because you will have a lot of time on it. Upgrading gear is a huge investment and not relatively cheap.

Also wanted to add that the the game works with a "hosted" server format so if the auto assigned host has awful connection it affects everyone.
