It's true that over time, most Far Cry games begin to look alike. But since I played this game BEFORE tackling FC4, I wasn't put off by the re-use of map terrain. Honestly, I turned off as much of the HUD possible (a very nice UI option that more games need to implement) to up the immersion. Yes, this game is full of filler "acquire all these" markers. Yes, there's one or two abilities that pretty much end any challenge in the game. But I love open world games where you need to rely on stalking and silently picking enemies off, versus run and gun. On top of that, the game world is absolutely beautiful. If you're a fan of Far Cry, and their approach of "gritty violence meets odd, almost paranormal settings", you should like Far Cry Primal.
