'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand;
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,

X-Com: Enemy Unknown is an excellent tactical/strategy game by 2K Games. The basic story surrounds the idea that aliens are invading earth and you are the last, best defense. A spiritual re-imagining of a classic, X-Com takes squad-based combat and mixes it with resource management. While in the base view, you play the role of the Base Commander that must manage research, base construction, and troops. When aliens attack, the game switches to an excellent turn-based combat mode.

Both the base management and the combat are excellent and offer enough challenge for even the hardest core strategist. The expansion X-Com: Enemy Within deepens the original game by adding genetic modification, Mec’s, and another opposing faction. The highlight of these new additions is easily the Mec’s, which made me smile for an hour the first time I deployed one of these monsters.

X-Com: Enemy Unknown is a wonderful game that is well worth a purchase and I recommend it completely.
