Star Conflict is a game with troubled past.

Once, it nearly died due to many bad decisions, yet after some fixes and repairs, it's back on feet. I wonder, for how long, considering current development(s)...

Pros:

  • Big variety of spaceships to fly with.
  • Rather large galaxy.
  • PvE and PvP modes, so no forced frustration.
  • Some equipment is craftable (including ships).
  • Open space mode (albeit very limited).

Cons:

  • Targem / Star Gem seems to do the same mistake(s) again to ruin the game, by skewing balancing towards $$$, as typical for greedy companies.
  • Balancing issues in PvP (by part by corporate greed).
  • Many goodies are available only with premium ($$$) currency (like Spatial Scanner).
  • Even event goodies are only for $$$
  • Frequent battle passes, where only worthy goodies are behind paywall (free available stuff is pretty much worthless)
  • New content is created with monetization in mind, tbh.

Do I recommend?

Not much. You can play SC, but YMMV.

X4 is like X3 wanting to be like X Rebirth; while X Rebirth was a failure, X4: Foundations is continuing what's the best from X3, with some good stuff from X Rebirth.

Space Legs included free of charge.

If I had to tell something about War Thunder - here is my opinion.

Pros:

  • Integrated Air, Sea and Ground Modes
  • Seven Nations to choose from (incl. Chinese hardware)
  • Various tech eras - from interwar up do 80's
  • Ships feel like a damned, true ships - there are even gunships and boats and barges added
  • 3 differently ruled modes (Arcade, Realistic, Sim)
  • Still better than World of Tanks from Wargaming Net; probably also World of Warships as well, but also defninitely superior to World of Warplanes.
  • My fav airplane, J-37 Viggen is coming in "Direct Fire" update
  • Speaking of which - lots of updates.
  • Recieved bonus in Star Conflict by playing WT.
  • 1st April Event - very fun.

Cons:
  • Sim mode may be too much for people accustomed to Arcade (less Realistic) modes; I was victim of unintentional FF resulting in kick from match;
  • Also if you played DCS / M$ Flight Sim, the Sim mode will be too unsophisticated to be truly Sim
  • By our cash the Gaijin earned, they purchased WinRAR license and used it to MASSIVELY compress the tree, allowing winning by bringing OP hardware
  • Real Cash prices are as bad as in any game made by any company from former USSR
  • WoT's worst armor-clad cancer is present (that is: Strv-103 and EBR, both premium but Strv have also regular tree-based variant)
  • bugs, Bugs, B̡͍̲̮̙̻̝ͤ͑͆U̶͚̱̰͚̼̜̪ͤ͂G͔͙̱̗̋͐̚̕Z̼͕͆͗͘ everywhere
  • P2W factor is getting more and more bigger (currently I would give D score outta F [huge])
  • Holiday events are one of the worst done events ever in PC gaming history - if you don't participate in hell of grind - you should forget about getting the prize (usually a OP machine, or something like IS-7)
  • Huge issues in eras V and VI (power creep, progression next to halt)
  • Grind progression is too damn slow
  • Rewards are bad per match (unless playing Eras I-III)
  • Daily log-in rewards - if you're willing to go 4000 days straight for best log-in prizes, then go ahead. But skip just a one day, then you're beginning from the miserable Day 1 again. No sorry here.

And that would be all.

A kind of a mix of the Minecraft with X3/X4.
The only thing I'm off from this game is the actual building. Unintuitive and very complicated.

So I've tried to play it several times both on Steam and mobile (and let's just be honest, played much more on mobile than here).

Pros:
- Cross-platform (PC + Android + iOS)
- Some ship designs are cool to watch

Neuts:
- Wingmans (helpers, but limited)
- Mining ops
- There is exploration, but is limited

Cons:
- ZiLong tend to put profits before the players (especially in Pay2Progress)
- More and more ships tend to be available only for $$$
- Tutorial is typical - you must click here to continue, other clicks are locked.
- Tried to use my FB account to log-in on both Steam and mobile, but it seems to be broken now.

I would write more, but I was out of loop for some time now, and I don't know how things are going on now.

My recommendation is to play EVE Online on PC, and EVE: Echoes on mobile if released.

This will be a short review.

Pros:

  • Space-themed Sci-Fi
  • Everyone can find something like to do
  • The Most Efficient Salt Mine out there
  • Got killed? Sry m8, your stuff is perma-poofed.
  • Player driven economy
  • Passive skill system
  • Below The Asteroids track from in-game soundtrack
  • SPACESHIPS! :D

Cons:

  • Can lose SP when getting killed in T3 Strategic Cruiser
  • People here tend to be toxic, but if you have guts, you can surely get immune to that (outside of game we're different, really)
  • Alphas can't fly Cheeki Breeki Triglavian Ships :'(
  • CCP ensures that EVE is a Siren - when you leave the game, they make sure that you'll get the urge to return (unless you have a feeling stronger than that urge).
  • EVE is like a Second Life, but REAL (someone would say that it's a Second Job, since Spreadsheets and such...)

That would be all.

Unfortunately, since game is a mobile adaptation to the PC (like some other games seen on Steam), there isn't any way to import your account from mobile version of the game, so unless you want to play from scratch...

Avoid.

And use mobile emulator with touch mapping support if you need to play this game on PC so badly.
