I get what you mean but there's a lot of pagan/folk themed bm bands that aren't corny and are pretty good.
Not a black metal guy by any stretch (personally). Some friends of mine would much prefer to hang me for the opinion, but I always felt the black metal scene was just screamy and dark to be dark.
Doom, Death, and black metal.
I was never a fun of the big bands but I see how someone can enjoy it.
I also listen to punk.
As cliche as it may be... I'm a Metallica/Testament kind of guy. Largely prefer 80s hairmetal. I've been to see many bands over the years including Guns N Roses, Metallica, Queensryche, and Tesla to name a mere few. I don't particularly feel to the need to display my entire resume of bands seen to prove a point.
And you my good Sir? What passion drives you to question the above?
