Regalia is a very good game. I like the mechanics, I like the writing, the graphics are fine. I'm really enjoying it.

Regalia is a very poorly playtested game. I'm pretty sure some mild save scumming broke a quest (steal or donate to a rebuilding project), it doesn't run at all on Linux for me, and on macs it just crashes every hour or so, typically right after a battle or an event, so you have to redo everything. It also died once in combat (flying cat seemed to land on a snake on a fire wall), and has had problems with enemies doubling up on tiles. Those are the bugs so far: my hours match what I've played, so I'm certain that there will be more. And this is for a game that has been out for a while.

Nonetheless, recommended.

The sad issue about hacknet is that I wanted to like it so much. It promises a look at an older school of hacking, and promises more realism than it can ultimately deliver. Clever shenanigans that aren't the precise clever shenanigans it expects have no effect, and I was left ultimately saddened and disappointed.

Unplayable flickering on the lowest graphics letter for a mac that met requirements. Don't say your game works on macs if it doesn't.

I got it at a 50% sale, and it was reasonable at that price. Good for a few hours of entertainment. It's not the deepest of games, but it has what it does well. Poor English, so if that's a hard requirement I'd advise against, but clear and legible. The story is very "plot: what plot?"

Doki Doki Literature club does things with the Renpy engine that I don't think anyone knew or imagined were possible. Recommended.

Crashes on startup. I'm unimpressed. This is apparently a common problem, with many people posting about a wide variety of solutions.

Sunless sea is in only limited ways a roguelike: you are not exploring the rules of the world. Rather, you are exploring the stories and the people, seen through different lenses and different choices. The goal of the game isn't to win: it's to see how every path unfolds, learn every secret, become every person. This is a game that reminds us of the importance of storytelling.
