Hands down the best survival horror on Xbox 360 back in the day! Beating down crackheads in the dark with random items is something i've yet to see replicated outside of this series. If the graphics aren't a turn off to you, this is definitely a game I would try.

It is a fun mobile game, on PC its the kind of game you play at work or while doing something else.

This is the peak of Valve story-telling. Right before they launched their 2 live-service cash cows and started making hardware instead of games.

It's been almost 12 years exactly since this game released and yet it still feels so good to play. There's not much to be said about Skyrim that hasn't been said already, it's a cinematic experience that will immerse you, it has basic RPG elements made accessible to all and it truly is a cult game at this point. Some purists will tell you that TES:V is for casuals and that the game doesn't deserve it's fame but i'd argue that it got alot of people to try RPGs and some of them went on to keep playing other titles in the genre.

As for the Special Edition, I would say it's the best version at this point. Good visual quality, decent amount of mods and all the DLC included. There was some gripes with it because of mod support at launch but a few years down the line I would vouch for this version.

This is definitely recommended to anyone who just wants a relaxed experience and to disconnect from the real world for a bit.

Let's be honest with ourselves here, the only reason we liked combat arms is because we didnt know better. It was always pay-2-win garbage and the cheats we're next level (I used to have the full package). Throwing airstrikes with the knife or turning melee into a machine gun, flying, crashing games, noclip, godmode, etc, etc.

Silencers we're sick before they turned them all into tin cans in like 2010 so the paid guns like the arctic wolf or the m200 ghillie would sell better. The menus we're also bastardised around the same time, becoming some kind of grey mess. Renting guns for real money when half the playerbase was underaged, selling the power to kick someone outright no questions asked, change name at will if you're caught cheating, and so many more outrageous business practices. It was a bad game held up by a half-decent community, most of the fun I remember having was in Clan Wars (.~NoToRiOuS~. babyyyyyyyy)

Note: I've done a 60h playthrough on a pirated copy at launch before getting it on Steam.

I'd say this is borderline not recommended just because it's not for everyone. The strong suits of KC:D are the writing and the immersiveness but the combat is ungodly levels of unappealing. You get used to it after a while but at no point will anyone with a sane mind say it's anything short of bad. The saving system is kinda weird and will be sure to make you either stop playing (temporarily or not) or download mods to save at will. The stealth system isn't always reliable and you're kinda clueless as to when you're seen or not, sometimes NPC's will even see you commit a crime through walls. Aside from those major gripes, it's a cool game. The immersion/RP possibilities (i.e.: feeling like you're living in medieval times) is sublime, the dialogue and side-stories are rich, the skills/stats are fun to progress, the weather is well-done and the views you can see in some parts of the map are just breathtakingly immersive. I also love the zero-to-hero approach they took, you can sorta feel Henry get smarter and stronger as you level up. I'd say a mix of the niche genre and the combat is what stopped this game from being a cult classic, with most people having sadly forgotten about this game less than 12 months after its release.
