Breathtaking game, no less.

Subnautica is, in my eyes, one of the best early access titles you can grab atm. The game puts a twist on the regular survival game, forcing you to swim your way around a beautiful landscape going from shallow coral reefs to spooky dark depths, which may hold an unpleasant surprise. In the base ''Story Mode'' of the game, you play as a stranded crewman from the spaceship ''Aurora'', somewhere in a not-too-distant future. You start off in an escape pod with limited supplies & some diving gear; you choose what happens next.

The gamplay is honestly amazing; you feel like you're in control of your character, and the immersion (in the game, not the water *silence* ok) is very pleasing. The game does suffer from some bugs such as weird noise in loading screens, sometimes loading your game but not letting you use item bar, general AI feels weird when it comes in contact with the cyclops, and the render distance could be pushed a bit. Alot of stuff has been fixed by the dev team, which is pretty active and somewhat transparent about where the developpement is at; props to devs like these. Other noteworthy thing would be the ability to choose between regular survival and ''freedom'', identical to the other survival mode except with no food/water bar for those who dislike that mechanic.

Edit: This game is a prime example of how Early Access can be an amazing thing, they add content updates regularly and publish posts explaining everything they added. Everytime there's an update, you have a reason to be excited because there's almost surely new content to play with, and without having to pay any more money.

Nonetheless, this is an amazing title that will catter to fans of diving, but also to those (like me) who would be terrified to go diving in anything more than shallow waters. I recommend it to any survival fan, as long as you don't mind spending most of your time swimming or simply being under water.

I'm not a huge fan of visual novels, but this one has a such a great way of laying out the story and timing their frames during cutscenes just makes me blow all kinds of loads. The game has a great way of setting the atmosphere, with the great soundtrack, the good character work and the choices you have to make sometimes.

Overall, the game has a very Noire feeling to it and will appeal mostly to point-and-click and cinematic game fans who focus more on the story. The visual style is, for the most part, nice looking, and it manages to make you feel emotions despite the animated nature of the characters. Really wish we could get a season pass for this!

I recommend this to any fan of detective games and point-and-clickers, and will most likely also be appreciated by fans of cinematic games.

Let's not lie to ourselves here, this is the worst CoD by far. You would be better off just giving 50$ to a homeless guy off the street. I'd rather commit sudoku than ever play a dog sequence in this game again.

Penumbra is one of the innovators in it's genre, inspiring many games from the recent years, more notably Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Outlast. The original (Overture) is probably my favourite with the 2nd one being very close in terms of general enjoyement.

The game is a basic survival horror where you can defend yourself. The atmosphere is quite taking and the story is quite twisted at times, but the game isn't very scary due to the simple enemies such as dogs and spiders. The game bases itself more on creating tension through the story and dialogue as well as the multiple puzzles that are necessary to the progression of the game.

I would recommend this to anybody looking to slowly get into survival horrors.

Overall amazing Sherlock Holmes game. The original universe of the detective is respected, with the quirky nature of Sherlock being accompanied by Watson's serious temperament. Crimes & Punishments follows the inspector through six cases interrogating, inspecting and solving, and each case has something interresting about it.

The game has a good life-span (around 10-12 hours) and the replayability isn't too bad because you can replay past cases while changing your conclusions. The puzzle mini-games are really fun, even though the picklocking gets pretty old before the end of the game.

My only real problem with the game is the lack of open world. ALL I WANT IS TO ROAM THE STREETS OF LONDON AS SHERLOCK HOLMES!! Honestly, I would have prefered this 100x over the stupid loading screens hidden behind carriage rides.

In the end, I still fully recommend this to any fan of detective games or fans of the Sherlock Holmes character. The game is pretty and the case solving is amongst some of the most fun i've ever played.

An old but great detective game. Sinking Island has a enjoyable storyline that starts off small but develops more and more as you find clues. And on top of that, the island is sinking!(no ♥♥♥♥ sherlock) The game is quite slow-paced due to the speed of the character and the weird layout of the rooms at times. Nonetheless, the game remains a great point-and-click detective game with a beautiful look and feel.

The NPC's are quite stiff(lips never move) and the dialogue is a bit laughable at times, but overall the immersion is still pretty good for the time/genre it was released in. The game can be quite difficult at times, as it wants you to connect the exact series of clues, which is obvious at times but not all the time.

I recommend this to fans of games like Nancy Drew or Sherlock Holmes, or if you enjoy storylines where the mystery unravels along the story.

They removed text-to-speach. Can't recommend it now.

Alan Wake's American Nightmare has the same mechanics as the previous Alan Wake title, but almost everything else has changed for this one. (The game takes place in an episode of Night Springs written by Alan Wake)

First of all, the game is way easier and provides you ammo refills every 100m so you never really need to conserve ammo, except maybe at the end of the game. The spooky aspect is gone all together, making the game more action oriented, with ALOT of combat. The game is basically the same campaign 3 times (because you're in a time loop) but it manages to mix it up somewhat, even though it gets repetitive. The dialogue is less appealing than in the original and sometimes the character models of the NPC's you meet are really ugly. Lastly, the flashlight is now godly: it recharges almost instantly and you barely ever have to pop in other batteries.

In conclusion, I would recommend this game if you really want to play everything from the Alan Wake series. The game stands fine on it's own, but with the weight of the first one, American Nightmare delivered something completely different, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I would say it's a good game, but not a very good Alan Wake game.

TL;DR Great atmosphere, fluid gameplay, well made storyline (alot of extra info given through world items) and good difficulty.

Alan Wake is the protagonist of his own story, trapped inside the pages he writes when he blacks out. At the start, you arrive in Bright Falls to relax and get some inspiration for your next book ''Departure'', when a bunch of weird things happen. People posessed by darkness and evil appear to try and end Alan's life, and he must fight through it to save his wife.

The game overral has a great atmosphere, giving you a jist of the story through dialogue and giving you the rest through hidden pages/TV's/Radios. It's dark, and you fend off enemies with your greatest weapon: LIGHT! (oh and guns too). The game is very well written and narrated as it's done by Alan himself (they really went full out by modeling a character from a real guy). The game also has a bunch of small jumpscares scattered throughout the game in the form of 2 second cutscenes with lound noises, but I guess you get used to it. The gameplay part is fun and Wake moves fluidly through Bright Falls.

Overall, I would definitly recommend this to any fan of good storytelling and mystery. It was the best(or close to) from it's genre in the Xbox 360 Generation.

Great indie game with a good production value and nice attention to detail. The gameplay is pretty linear but it's very story-oriented (you make choices but they don't affect what happens that much). I've only played episode 1 but I would definitely play the rest now once they start getting released.

There are inspection scenes (like in most detective games) and you have to link the clues yourself. The game is black & white (with the exception of things that are red, like blood, very reminiscent of Sin City) and has a noire kind of feel with grimey crime scenes and Al Capone encounters.

I would recommend episode one of Blues and Bullets to fans of detective games, Telltale games and Life is Strange to a certain extent.
