I gotta say this game is great, really fresh take on the management/city building genre. Still has room to grow, but I think what's here currently is well worth the price. I've gotten at least *30 hours out of the game and I'm still having fun. Haven't even reached the end of the tech tree yet.

*If you count time in the beta I've got much more than 5 hours on this title at the time of review.

This game was pretty rough on launch, it definitely needed more time to cook. But Fatshark have been cooking, and it's now in a state where I feel I can recommend it. Where as before the progression felt limited, but with the full weapon crafting system implemented and Auric missions it feels like there's a decent end game to work towards now. The moment to moment game-play itself is still great, the environments are amazing, and with the new class system coming I'm excited to see how they deepen the build complexity.

Above all else Fatshark have shown they're willing to own up to and to put the time into fixing the state of the game so I can recommend this being highly confident it will just keep getting better.

Great game with a pretty unique premise. The art is well done with each event type having a different full screen art piece to prime you for the text. The events themselves are creative and varied everything from cryptocurrency market take overs and better-than-life dream machines to my ~1950 tech humans actually completing Project Orion (old plans for a nuke powered spaceship) in a carved out asteroid and going to alpha centauri cause they didn't know what to do with all their nukes and they found an asteroid big enough. The text for each is written well with the only downside being that the text that pops up between events is a bit repetitive.
The game does need more systems to interact with for this price point, but what's here already is definitely worth a try. I'm really looking forward to seeing where the game goes.
I should also say that there isn't much in the way of gameplay between the choices, you really are mostly waiting for the next event to pop up. You can fine tune your civs, but if you're used to having gameplay around your choices like stellaris or a typical RPG this will not be the same. This is much more in the vein of a choice heavy visual novel or a story based auto clicker. It's really a story generator and nothing more, I absolutely love it for that, but your mileage may vary.

I really want to like this game. It scratches the same itch Mass Effect 3 multiplayer used to before EA shut down those servers. But there is no way I can recommend this game after the Devs have done absolutely ♥♥♥♥ all to the fix the games massive issues. The only thing they actually did was to finally fix the issue which would wipe all your equipment upon log in. So everything that you'd built up in the game would just get flushed. They shipped a $60 game with that bug and had it live in the game for multiple weeks. Oh and the characters affected by the bug still don't have their gear and have been made unplayable to prevent further damage. Since then they've barely communicated with the community, at one point promising free gear as compensation for those that played in the first week and then never following through. This game is a dumpster fire which I really highly doubt will ever get put out at this point. Especially now that it's gone on sale, only one month after launch? Really?

Do not buy this game until they fix it, if they ever do.

Edit: So I need to get in the game eventually to try stuff out, but I can confirm that the devs have put out a number of patches addressing issues. They also did send out the free gear finally, so it seems like they are following through. Still confused how a game as thoroughly broken as this was ever shipped, but it's really good to see the devs putting in the time to fix it.

Fantastic game, I think this might be my favorite survival building game so far. The theme is fun and well realized with surprisingly robust building tools. The combat is solid with substantively different play styles being viable, so you can expect your choices on what to craft and what to level to actually matter. (Honestly the sheer scope and depth of interactions in this game's world are really impressive given the install size of only 1 GB.) And the quality of life tweaks Iron Gate have made to the survival building formula make this game shine. Everything from cutting out item repair costs, to keeping the same character between worlds, to having no deconstruct cost. There are a bunch of minor optimizations that let you really focus on building bases and doing combat. I would confidently recommend this to any fan of the survival building genre and even more so if you're into vikings. And let's be real, who out there isn't into vikings?

10/10 Would simp for papa Odin again.

Solid game, feels like I got pretty much what I thought it would be. I'd say it's worth the $40 price tag though anymore and it would be a stretch. I've heard of some people having issues with VR. I've had zero issues other than steam VR crashing once after I toggled VR off in game. And it only took all of 10 seconds for it to boot up again and start working fine once I toggled VR back on. I'm running a 1070 with an Oculus Rift s for anyone out there wondering.

The other complaint I've heard is that the controls are ♥♥♥♥, but who on earth expected to have a good time using a keyboard and mouse in a flight sim. If you have an xbox controller or a HOTAS you should be fine. It's nothing like Elite Dangerous in it's level of complexity, but it's good enough to require skill and forethought. There is room to get good in this sim without drowning most new players out of the gate.

Definitely good to be skeptical of anything EA puts out. But in this case I'd comfortably recommend this to anyone with a HOTAS setup or who has enjoyed flight sims with a controller before.

I love this game, there is nothing else out there quite like it.

The battles you can participate in are truly epic in scope, from being part of a massed ESF squadron establishing air superiority for a ground assault, or being on the front lines of a MAX crash hot dropping onto the point, of setting up a mobile repair station to keep an armored column going, of helping to construct a forward base for troops to deploy from, and many other roles. The knowledge that everything in this massive battlefield is being done by other players like you makes the game so much more meaningful. Yes I could play other war games that allow me to take part in battles of this scale, but none can create them organically like Planetside 2 can.

When you see your air support arrive to strafe the enemy armored column that's been sieging your base for the last 30 min as you barely hold onto the point, being able to thank another player for that is a really rewarding experience in its own right just as much as being able to be the air support arriving.

P.S. Finding and joining an outfit is a really important part of the game IMO, they are the ones who will let you efficiently coordinate and help you through the early levels.

P.P.S. Papa Vanu loves you

One of the better co-op games I've ever played, up there along side Left 4 Dead and Vermintide. The game already feels complete with a fair degree of polish and an interesting endgame. The devs are dedicated and responsive continuing to add even more content to the core loop. Not to mention numerous delightful surprises (see the entire community losing their minds over loot bug petting in update 27). I really enjoy this game and would recommend giving it a shot if you're on the edge (don't forget about Steam's generous refund policy if it turns out it's not for you).

You'll probably be particularly interested in this game if you enjoyed Left 4 Dead, Vermintide, or any of the classic class based 4 man dungeon crawlers like Gauntlet. The controls and minute to minute game play are vastly different from a game like Gauntlet (much closer to a more mobile and varied L4D), but the goofy sense of comradery and natural teamwork this game evokes are straight out of the arcade.

I look forward to seeing you out there Dawi, Rock and Stone!

Best gun play out of any looter shooter (though Borderlands 3 actually gives it a real run for it's money this time round), best lore out of any looter shooter (though you will have to read to understand it), solid selection of endgame content both on the PvP and PvE sides (finally).

Destiny 2 is at long last in a good place. Though it took Bungie awhile they've finally made a great game. Warframe and Borderlands 3 beat it on several points, namely loot variety, cosmetic customization, and build depth. But they both fail to have as smooth gunplay, as immersive and fully realized worlds, and (IMO) as engaging endgame encounters as Destiny 2. I would certainly recommend this game to anyone interested in looter shooters, FPS combat, or immersive MMORPGs with a Sci-Fi fantasy setting. If you've ever been interested in the franchise now is the time to give it a go.

10 out of 10, would make a macro to print steam money again.

Also the game is actually pretty good, if you like Terraria you're going to really like this game.
