The second banger in the aggroverse, this time talking about the effects of capitalism on the ecosystem. Every game this studio comes out with has such great commentary on society at large, and it really just brings me joy to see this very passionate dev team create things that are both familiar yet lore rich and new in nature.

Keep on... crabbin' on?

There has been no game more highly anticipated on my gaming radar this year than Midnight Suns. It is also one of the first games in a long time that I'm excited to be spending the next 100 hours trying to unlock everything and see just everything this game has to offer. Currently been playing this whenever I have had the chance since release, this goes to the top of my list of "Games that received the hype in my mind and actually lived up to it tenfold" list.

My whole reasoning behind wanting to play this started because I was itching for a new Firaxis game to play. The Marvel component is amazing too, I really am just a MCU normie when it comes to the comic book stuff. Some characters I have actually read their comic runs (Like the Runaways and Scarlet Witch comics) but for the most part my knowledge of the main marvel cast comes from other marvel games and the big MCU.

Without a doubt in my mind (except for maybe Scarlet Witch, I am biased) this is the best interpretation and execution of these characters I have ever seen. Some of the characters I didn't like starting out I really didn't know or understand, but spending that time with them and seeing just how everyone has a role together really brought me around. My favorite scene in the game is from discount Danny Phantom Robbie Reyes and the OG GR, and I just didn't see the appeal of him really until this point. Then after going down his character arc I started kicking myself because holy flark dude what great character development. Such great storytelling from a narrative and gameplay point.

I'm writing this at 2am and I gotta be up early for work in 4 hours so I'll finish with my final thoughts. Other than some really long loading screens and stuttering issues (turn off the 2K launcher to GREATLY improve your experience) I want to say that this game will sit at a close contender for the top spot of strategy games. Not just for me, but for a whole lot of people as well. I gotta revisit some of the classics just to be sure, but I haven't played a game so rich in storytelling, so in-depth in gameplay, and so genuinely compelling/addictive in deck building I think... ever. XCOM 2 sat as my favorite strategy game since its release, but that changed ever since the Midnight Suns... assembled or whatever. :D

I genuinely feel like Scarlet Nexus is slept on. It's a great "my friends are my power" game, and if you don't get crazy into the little details, the ride feels pretty nice to be on. Still hate Kagero tho worst trope by far.

This is a great beginning for the development of this game, I would personally like it if team JNRP was added in days to come, but great work so far!
