Very innovative type of FMV game.

It has been very fun to play.

Translation issues occur fairly often though, its kind of hard to understand sometimes.
Some of the "bonus" content isnt translated at all.
The game can get pretty grindy when trying to look for the route you would need.

Still very fun and interesting, I do recommend!

So, i just want to say that, the game itself isn't the worst, and it for sure isn't the best either, the layout is bad and confusing, some characters are very in-balanced, their is only 2 modes, which aren't made great either.

The roster consists of 10 main characters and 5 support characters; the support characters are very annoying because they stay on the back(ground) of the character, which sometimes makes it pretty confusing, apart from that, it is an interesting mechanic but for sure could have been implemented better.

Once again, some characters are more imbalanced than others, the learning curve is pretty high, so i do recommend staying off the game of you are looking for a casual anime fighter.

There were a lot of problems outside of the game itself as well; the game feels stretched out, because it was originally an arcade game and for square type screens, but you can get used to it after a few hours. Some controllers don't work for the game and the controls and how you can view them etc, is very weird to use.

The game has no story, and there is not really a training mode; does not show you how the game works (at least properly).

Vanguard princess is pretty grind-y, and has a high skill curve, the sprites and graphics are not great,SOME backgrounds are really annoying/not great(though some are actually very nice), the voice acting is fine; nothing special. The UI and Menus are usually pretty confusing.

DO NOT buy the online deluxe DLC, it is not made completely correct, and could be confusing to use, plus, almost no-one plays the game for Online or the game itself in general, it is not worth it.

The boss are very annoying, grindy and really hard to beat. The story line is...basically non-existent haha.

So, in conclusion:

Unless you like 90's type fighting games, grinding, and fan-service type games, i really dont recommend the game,
If you are thinking if you should buy DLC of the characters, play the game and see if you are bored of it quickly, if so, the DLC isnt much better BUT if you do like it, do try getting the DLC, likely on sale ;D

This is such an underrated game, and deserves a lot more praise for what is!

I love this game for what it is. I started playing it early on into its development, it has, like any game, garnered many changes that have their positives and negatives.

I have two primary issues within the game:

1. The skill curve is overly difficult, and I do not mean this as someone who has played the game for hundreds of hours like me. But new people trying to get into the game. Especially, when I have tried to get my friends to play this game, it is often too difficult to understand and there is given little possibility to improve as other players are always, considerably much better than you at that stage. This is accentuated by the recent changes that make the game even more "tech-heavy" and complicated.

2. Unless you live in Asia or to a lesser extent NA, finding a match is extremely difficult, which makes the game really grueling to open, as you know that it will take you extremely long to find a game before you actually get to play. Unless you want to play on extremely high ping, which for this type of game is devastating.


That said, there is a reason I love this game, I think it is a very interesting take on the MOBA genre, and although I don't fully agree with some of the newer changes to the game, I still find it very interesting to play as a player who is fairly apt and experienced in the game's mechanics.
