They replace a polished, community-loved competitive shooter with this ♥♥♥♥? An unfinished game full of empty promises that claims to be "subtick" when its still essentially 64 tick and in fact functions WORSE than 64 tick does. I kill players when my crosshair isn't on them, die behind walls, and have to rely on more luck than skill to get kills half the time. They add nothing and remove everything besides core gameplay. Achievements? Gone. Custom servers? Gone. GOTV spectate? Gone. Demo download? Gone. And what have they added... a new smoke mechanic? It's extremely disappointing they completely replaced csgo with this garbage and decided to cut off all access for the many players who'd prefer the original csgo to this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. On top of this, they release it as an "update" to csgo, so the reviews are merged for both games. This is not an update. This is a complete restart from when csgo was released in 2012 with better graphics and worse optimization, meaning many players who could previously play csgo perfectly fine struggle to run cs2. Audio is worse, hit reg is worse, UI is worse, ranking is worse, collision and physics are worse, extra features outside of casual and comp are nonexistent, anti-cheat didn't improve. CS2 is a copy of csgo with better graphics and a new smoke (wow!), with literally everything else being worse. It really seems like they rushed this game out in 6 months for some odd reason and have completely turned the community against them. As a long time CSGO player with nearly 3.5k hours, its extremely disheartening to see the game I used to love get washed down the drain and replaced with an unfinished product. As a player with nearly 3.5k hours, I can strongly advise against purchasing this game until they do significant work to fix the mess they've created.
