Am I supposed to be bored?

Starfield has taken the strongest aspect of it's predecessors, Skyrim and Fallout with it compelling exploration and gameplay loop, and ripped it straight for starfield.

Exploration via fast travel feels meaningless and unrewarding.
Core looter shooter gameplay is still intact but when I'm questioning myself what's the point of getting these new and shiny gun and armor, then it's a problem.

As i sat down thinking what words to put into this review, i came to the conclusion that no paragraph i am capable of forming is able to convey the plethora of emotions i felt whilst on my first playthrough. And as the credits rolled i felt that i had experienced something special, as well as the sense of loss that i wasn't able to enjoy this game for the first time ever again.

The bottom line is that if you like good stories, then sit down, fully engross yourself in this expertly crafted world and characters and let reality fade into the background.

Welcome to Valhalla.

Early Access Review
This game is broken, pure and simple. Context menu cursor is bugged, menus is bugged, invisible players and being stuck in chairs unable to move are just the few i've encountered within 20 minutes of game time.

I understand this is an early access game, but even an early access has to be functional build to a certain extent. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Right in the feels.

If you enjoy a good story and narrative, do not hesitate to pick this up.

I was led to believe this was a point and click adventure game/interactive story, However this turned out to be a resource management game instead. Although i commend the developer for exploring certain taboo/uncomfortable themes in the storyline, the gameplay itself was tedious and plain frustrating. Lack of a tutorial or explaination to the various senarios led to unjustified difficulty and general "unfairness" of repeated failure scenarios.

Was not overly impressed with the storyline and gameplay was just not fun at all. Not recommended.

First things first, this is not an normal game per say, there is no discernable gameplay evident.
Do not play this game expecting it to be anything remotely similar to anything else you have ever played.

So what is this then, you may wonder. This game wants to tell you a story, a story in exploratory game form.
As you explore your family home, bits and pieces of infomation will be revealed to you as you explore its' depths and nosey around in people's stuff.

The core story itself is not particularly amazing nor inspiring, however the delivery and excution made an otherwise unspectacular story seem particularly moving and touching.
If you liked interactive storytelling games like Heavy Rain, you should definitely give this a try.

TL:DR -
Good storytelling through exploration. Play for the feels. Instant gratification buffs walk away now.

I loved the art style and the noir vibes of the soundtrack. Funny and witty dialouge made me laugh and an incredibly robust core gameplay mechanic allows multiple approches to this Puzzle/Stealth platformer.

Incredible fun man, buy it.

P.S. The ending is pretty badass too.
