There are a lot of things going for Elden Ring that the other Souls games just don't exactly have. Now don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Dark Souls 1, 2, and 3. I've beaten all of them except for 2 doing all bosses multiple times. On Elden Ring after 1,015 hours I finished my black flame challenge run and am now doing a shield only all bosses challenge run. It's probably one of the best games I've played. Not the best, but definitely within my top 4 or 5. The graphics in this game especially after all of the patches, look absolutely wonderful. RTX I can't test as I only have a 2060 and my what is now becoming a potato of a PC would cry and weep for a break because of how intensive RTX is on what is sadly now a lower mid-range PC. The gameplay is fun and can be either one of the easiest games of your life, or an absolute hell throughout every single aspect of it. The expansive world that it gives you is also extremely fun and wonderful to explore as there's always something new (I'm actually STILL discovering new stuff such as new attack combos, item locations, etc. even with the amount of hours and what is now 33 playthroughs under my belt.) So yeah, this game is massive, but it's massive in a small way. The way they interconnect everything within the game is actually very cleaver making it seem a lot larger than the landscape actually is, (A little bit larger than Skyrim as of now until DLC releases.) As for build quality and weapon usage, honestly. I'm struggling to find builds that don't at least have some utility together. And I experiment a LOT with build variety. I could gush all day about this game for hours on end and still not get tired. There are some faults to this game but it's much smaller and not as significant as the good things about it in my eyes. Of course it won't be for everyone, but, It's definitely for me.
