Mechanically and gameplay wise this is the best Borderlands game yet. Combat is satisfying and flows well, it doesn't feel slow or clunky to shoot and move, and it is satisfying to play and the feedback is good. It has a lot of free customization options, something that should be normal nowadays but is unfortunately rare, and a good array of game settings too. The multiplayer connectivity is good, the game is well supported with events, and bugs for me at least have been minimal. It is BY FAR the most rewarding borderlands game from a loot standpoint, you really get to constantly feel like you're getting more powerful gear and interesting gear too. I was never hurting for cool legendary items and hardly had to use lesser blue or green weapons, which kept the world very fun to play in and it was exciting to get so many drops. The player characters are probably the best they've ever been from a synergy standpoint and also the standpoint of having their own voices and stories that you discover in game. They feel more relate-able than previous characters. The villains, however, and the story, are not good. The campaign is lackluster and crammed full of of cheesy or hokey moments, or played out meme jokes that haven't aged well. The antagonists are pathetic, obnoxious, and annoying. They're also comically evil. It's a relief when they die just because you know you never have to hear them speak again. The writing in this one really just wasn't stellar and it doesn't capture the magic of Handsome Jack. Your allies are still fun though and the environments are great. Overall a great entry in the series that suffers from a design by committee story of people trying too hard to make jokes and over inflating the villains without them earning it. Still very much worth the buy when a sale is up.

Excellent game with great DLC, really capture the feel of the tabletop while being its own thing. The mod scene is alive and vibrant and the game is well supported. A great turn based strategy with lots of customization and creativity involved in kitting out your mechs, perfect for sitting back with a podcast or youtube on and just grinding out some missions

I was afraid to get into Stellaris. I only recently started playing the imposing behemoth full of lots of expansive content. It's expensive, not the base game, but to really get at all the mechanics, to have all the content, you're going to be paying for a lot of DLC, which is a trait of any Paradox game. That being said, I love it. It's one of first 4x or Grand Strategy games I've really given significant time to and it has made me feel like it's a good genre for me. The multiplayer is a pleasing way to spend an evening with friends, the content isn't too hard to understand if you're just willing to read the tooltips and pop over to the forums or wiki for some of the less described features, and it is absolutely engaging as you try to manage your galactic empire. Making plan after plan and managing species and populations is thrilling, nothing ever gets too complicated that it can't be handled. It really broke down my fear of the genre. The DLCs add new ways to play and lots of interesting curveballs to the game mechanics. All around a great starting point for playing 4x in my opinion, a great space experience and management game, and an absolute time eater with lots of customization and achievements to mess with and many ways to approach the game. A solid experience that I recommend, with or without it's pricey DLC, a good game to relax with.

One of the best turn based strategy games on the market. Has a great modding community that th dev treats with respect. DLC so far is pretty good, but not necessary. Looking forward to the upcoming expansion. Enemy AI is pretty good and the level look and design, and art style, are all incredible. Some issues with animations taking to long and optomisation (frame rate drops during supression ability) don't really hamper the game at all. By far a must buy for strategy game lovers and one of my all time favorite games
