After 15 hours of playtime I have to admit this is one shellshocking good time of a TMNT game. Splintered Fate being the first TMNT game to be an Action Roguelike has this fan screaming Cowabunga through out each level and the crazy runs you can have makes this prime for replay value. I even enjoy running missions with randoms which is not too bad. I do see a significant difference between all five characters you play as, but given what you can built to get through each level helps out the most.

The latest update got rid of the screen going dark when you die in a fight so you can clearly see what your co-op companion is doing and maybe can help see what they can't since they are focusing on staying alive. I am 7 trophies away from getting the platinum and I am still playing to play more after that. Definitely worth the buy.

What can I say about Wendigo Blue, after two hours and beating the invasion taking out my first god. I have to say I am impressed with the pixel art style beat'em up. Flows quite well with the combat and I love a good beat'em up that plays like a fighting game which WB did not disappoint. It has that nice level of difficulty where you just have to learn from your mistakes.

Granted I was not sure how to break armor from enemies, but luckily I had a companion controlled by the computer to assist me. Picking up certain items to help with the armor breaks, even though they are limited can help as well as a perfect parry. So far i just used blue who is a power house and has a huge axe which does ice damage which is nice. However, I highly recommend heading into the training mode to utilize and understand the controls better.

The only bad I would say is two of the buttons are mixed match with LT and RB. As well as having a Dodge meter instead of just a dodge. The game has its level of difficulty as it is, that could have been a simple mechanic not to have a limiter.

In conclusion Wendigo Blue gives you the experience you pay for and more honestly. Even though it is in early access it is still a solid game with cool replay value and well designed characters. Looking forward to more unlocks and seeing what the developers do to update and fix some issues. I give it 3.5 beastly paws out of 5.

I have played games through the years like Rise to Honor, Stangle Hold, Sleeping Dogs, and many amazing beat'em ups, bringing us to Acts of Blood which gives that same Martial Arts action scenario. The collisions and animations are still spotty, but the brutal combat is well done. I do hope that we get a chance to ride the motorcycle to areas and I am looking forward to the skill tree options. I do like the use of the weapons, but being that I am using an Xbox controller I would probably remap X and A differently where X is punch and A are your kicks. I might experiment a bit with remapping if it allows me. Also crouch should be on the R3. I do not mind the parkour button as RB works well. So far not bad, just still needs to cook a bit in the oven. Still looking forward to the release!

Not to my surprise was I going to enjoy the sequel to Space Marines with Warhammer 40K Space Marines II. It hits all the great notes of a potential game-of-the-year candidate. It's a great story as you play the role of Space Marine Titus, but I will not spoil the story for you.

Gameplay is off the hook:

Space Marines II gives you everything you could imagine regarding a Warhammer game. You have the brutal elements dealing with waves of enemies and using all the tools and skills of your Marine at your disposal. You are a Walking Tank doing your Emperor's will while reigning down New Testament on Heretics and Tyranids. Oh, the Tyranids are the worst of the bunch to deal and they do come in swarms. Yes, I am using a PS5 controller to play. You have your Down on the D-Pad to switch between your melee and main weaponry. Right on the D-Pad activates your stim shot. RB is for your melee attack and if held down can cause a bigger attack to knock back enemies, especially those using shields.

R-Trigger to shoot your gun and L-Trigger to aim down the sights. Also depending on what abilities you have will determine your Triangle button. That's just for the main story mode. You have operations that are side quests and here is where you can customize your Marine better. I am using Space Wolf emblems and with in-game currency, you unlock as you play. You can use that to purchase more customizations. There is no MTX thank the war gods for that.

I have chosen to go with the Assault Class which gives me more of a melee option in the game. With my Warhammer and bolter pistol, I deal with the crowd with much joy and violence. With my jump jets I can bring the Hammer Down on many enemies in one spot. I also have a charge attack when held for a long time which will charge the lightning on my hammer for a major AOE attack. Then you have your glorious execution moves when the enemy has taken enough damage and starts blinking. You have a few different animations and all are a treat to see. The same goes with your generous parry button which is your LB, once you get a light blue indicator you can stop and stomp or rip any opponent out. When it does an Orange flash is unblockable and you need to dodge. Keep that in mind and pay attention to your surroundings.

Visuals galore:

Great segway after talking about your surroundings. The world in 40K being that it is not an open world, it sure as hell feels that way. Going from Jungles to large structures and even some grim areas of the Chaos Marines. It is all beautiful to look at and it is nice that the game gives you an "Attention" button in certain scenes to give you a grandiose look at an event.

The sound designs as well as the music really gets you in the mood to take down all adversaries. Even as you walk around the battlebarge the world is alive with side conversations and seeing fleets of your brothers in arms getting the most righteous of Speeches before a mission. The spirit and attention to detail with Warhammer 40k have been accomplished. Including the diverse cast of Space Marines you interact with.

The Bad:

The only gripe I have is the loading times before a mission and after. It is quite long, especially in this day and age which has me shocked. I am not sure if that is isolated on the PC, but if anyone else can let me know on console how it is that would be great.

Conclusion:

This review is only based on my co-op campaign experience and not the PVP which I will touch base on at another time. I tend to focus on the main game before the PVP anyway. Being that I am only 8 hours into the game, I am hooked. Warhammer 40K Space Marines II hits all my great loves in a video game of this nature. Being that I am a fan of Gears of War, which I can see how Gears was inspired by Warhammer in so many ways. This just felt right to me in the carnage, the story, and the fluid co-op experience which makes it quite simple just share an invite code and you are good to go. It is only up to 3 players at a time, but I think it is fine. The chaos is quite large for us big Space Marines anyway. Our presence surely is well known as we stomp around the levels of liberating areas.

This Beast is giving Warhammer 40K: Space Marines II 4.5 out of 5 Beastly Paws. Check it out for yourself and personally, I think this is a great contender for the Game of the Year spot. Full crossplay is available so everyone can feel like a badass Space Marine. Come on through next time when I touch base on the PVP portion of the game. - Beast Out -

Quick thoughts. Tales of Kenzera: Zau is a wonderful game with a great Metroidvania experience. You can tell from the developer that they took heart in making this game to teach you about loss and accepting that it is a part of life. The gameplay is fluid especially switching between Moon and Sun Mask that also have their own skill trees to level up and make your experience in combat better. The creatures in the game all have their own story and look great. Is the game challenging yes, with easy to figure out puzzles. All and all this is a great game with a lovely journey to experience.

I have this on Xbox and got a review copy on Steam to play with friends on here. So real quick since I beat the hell out of it on Xbox. It was a great experience on this reboot with fun gameplay and mechanics. Especially the power-ups and overload mode. Massive replay Value and the Konami Code work, but you will need to use in-game money to buy the 7500 to get the 30 Lives, just an FYI. Other than that I highly recommend Contra Operation Galuga. It was a fun game with massive replay value. - Beast Out -

When a hero comes along in a world full of turmoil it is best to just roll with the punches and go Berserk. Berserk Boy is finally here and after all this time it did not disappoint. Welcome gamers to this review of Berserk Boy. Does this fill in that missing itch of a great mega man style platformer?

The story as most might know starts with our new hero Kei who gets caught up in the nefarious dealings of an evil scientist. Until he gets his hands on an orb that gives Kei tremendous powers! I mean he has to start off somewhere when going through hordes of deadly robotic adversaries. With his flying talking companion Fiore and many others embark to help Kei with his journey. It is a crazy ride throwing this kid in the middle of a war, but the resistance needs an edge and Kei is it.

Gameplay:

Berserk Boy follows a great formula of going through different stages, each stage broken up into parts until Kei confronts that stage orb holder. Most gamers will know where this is going as you have your base abilities until you defeat a boss and absorb their power. As you utilize your powers each one with have mid-range, close-range, defense, and all with elemental abilities. All of Kei's orbs will be used in different scenarios that might be needed. When progressing through the stages, the player will start to see a pattern that some stages will require you to use all your abilities. There is backtracking as each stage will require one of the abilities to get to certain areas.

I've only unlocked 4 abilities so far and just wanted to share my thoughts before I go even further. I am hooked. Each enemy brings on a new challenge and even the stages can be its own boss fight. It comes down to patience and after each stage you will be scored on your performance which you can use those points to buy upgrades for each ability. This is where the grind comes in as you will use that replay value to go back to previous missions and get a higher score on them and more points to buy the upgrades.

Visuals:

Kudos to the designer of Berserk Boy the levels, the characters and the sound design are all wonderful. Very Anime and makes me wish for figurine merch or an anime in the future. Music composed by Sonic Mania composer Tee Lopes is a plus and drives the action in the right direction.

Final thought:

Not going to spoil anything further and being that said Berserk Boy is on sale right now at $18 from $20 which is not bad. There is massive replay value to be had and even though it is a bit tough, there is something to learn from mistakes. Players will get better as they play along. Check it out for yourself. This beast gives Berserk Boy 5 out of 5 beastly paws. - Beast Out -

Welcome troopers. Liberty and Democracy sponsor this review, but Real Talk Helldivers 2 is a game that was more than meets the eye. Not only do you have the best of both worlds by fighting both Automatons and Terminids. Let's get this out of the way the developers at Arrowhead Game Studios gave players the best of both worlds catering to Starship Troopers and the fun of the Terminator franchise. This brings in a lot of nostalgic fun, but it doesn't end there.

Gameplay:

Helldivers 2 is a step up from the top-down twin stick shooter from the first game to a 3rd person one. There was nothing wrong with twin-stick shooters, but it seemed they wanted to give gamers a new experience, which works because it brings you closer to the battle and has gamers keeping their heads on a swivel. When it comes to weapon mechanics, it is top-notch. Helldivers 2 devs too care about giving players a great experience to feel the combat in action.

This also has gamers be careful with friendly fire as there is no way to turn it off. Communicate and watch what you are doing so as not to cause accidents. Your strategems are key to winning any battle and depending on what you level up on your ship will determine what you can use. You have defensive Strategemens and offensive ones. Personally, my favorites are the Napalm, Cluster Strike, and Sentry turrets. The best thing to do when starting in any match is to drop down your support weapon of your choice. Just be careful where you throw down anything because you could accidentally wipe out your squad and yourself. But even that is simple with a reinforcement recall. It's funny how you use your directional buttons to put in each order, but it brings in a level of urgency not to mess up your inputs.

Teamwork is the key and being able to help one another get through each mission will have you tasting victory for democracy in no time. If you are playing on the controller you can use the Y button or Triangle to switch between your primary and secondary. Your support weapon can be accessed by holding Y. Diving can be your friend if used properly, but it can slow you down on getting back up. Honestly, this has the same animations as the later Metal Gear Solid titles which is not bad at all. Cover is not an option though, being that this is a 3rd person shooter, gamers would probably expect a cover system. Not in this game trooper, because you will always be on the move, and depending on the difficulty the enemy will be vicious.

When it comes to armor and unlocking other weaponry, that is all in the Acquisitions area. You use superstore credits to get into the Premium Helldivers area or you can stick to the regular battle area. You can unlock emotes, weapons, and other armor. There is some stats you can look at between light, medium, and heavy. Which mostly makes you run faster depending on the gear, but some armor actually highlights rare samples on the planet. Keep a look out for that.

The best part about this that was revealed being that this is a live-for-service game. The developers are always watching and adding their flare to missions. Think of them as being a dungeon master who can turn the tides of battle depending on how they feel. This makes things intriguing and exciting at the same time. If you start seeing extra enemy drops or your strategems acting weird it could be a developer in action. Yes, the Automatons can hack or jam your strategems. Be mindful when you throw that strategem or it could have deadly consequences.

Visuals:

Honestly, the atmosphere of each world you go to is designed brilliantly. From fogged-out Jungles on one planet to intense heat on another with heavy dust storms. It brings a level of visibility that will have any trooper in a panic about what is around the corner. The lighting effects and sound designs are amazing and even night battles have different personalities, especially when fighting automatons and there are nothing but red eyes in the distance with murder intent.

The impact of the explosions and the flash of the bombs give players the “get out of dodge” feeling. Also, the bug and robot designs are top-notch—great job to the art department involved in making them.

Bad:

Besides some lag boarding some ships, and some screen freezing that happens occasionally nothing else to worry about. The key thing that I did was wait two weeks after release when things were updated and had fewer issues. It was pretty bad when Helldivers 2 first came out with servers being overflooded and some crashing issues. But now it seems to be pretty solid.

Final Thoughts:

It is a fun team-based game that features fun salutes and a lot of in-game content to unlock just by playing. There is a superstore area for microtransaction credits, but it is not overly expensive. You can earn the superstore credits while playing which does not take as long as you think. You use medals to unlock things in the battle passes which both are equally as cool. On another note, I do agree with the developers that there is no need for PVP in the game because some players are trying to make it toxic already by unaliving their team to still either their weapon or samples which makes no sense. It is all shared at the end of the mission. If you want to try out someone's weapon just ask and they can drop it for you.

Helldivers 2 gets 4.5 beastly paws out of 5. Check it out and let’s get a game together sometime. - Beast Out -

All right, I think it is a good time to share my opinion on Enshrouded. I always look for a good survival game and so far this is it. Enshrouded has a decent Story to grasp you with an abundance of lore to enjoy. Being that it is one of the best build systems out there with no real limitations only to your imagination.

My current build is a tanky Barbarian which you can honestly go through the skill tree to be a jack of all trades or concentrate on a particular skill. It all depends on if you are solo or with a group. Speaking of group you can bring your character over with anything in their backpack with you to any server. You don't have to make a new character which is a huge plus. Leveling up the flame can be a bit grindy, but it comes with excitement as this world is dangerous and you will never know what hole or camp you might end up in to fight deadly entities.

When it comes to combat it is up to your personal preference between being a one-handed fighter, two-handed fighter, Archer, or Mage. As you progress through not just leveling up your base area, but by gathering other survivors for better equipment. Exploring is your best bet and gathering enough resources for what you need. The first thing I would suggest getting is the grappling hook and glider as it will be your main importance to getting out of sticky situations.

This is where I just have one problem with the game. There is no way to climb out of situations. I feel like a climbing mechanic should be crucial for a game with this much exploration. You can always make a hook system to get yourself out of situations. That's about it.

Enshrouded is still in Early Access so there are some bugs like enemies being half in the floor and will not die but they can attack in that space. So far nothing game-breaking which is a plus. I highly recommend this game for what it gives you at 30 bucks. It's not bad and fun. Check it out for yourself and please share what you think of Enshrouded below. - Beast Out -

So, check this out. Do you remember an old game from the PS One era called Tobal which had a sequel? What am I getting at with this? Well, Street Fighter 6 is that evolution where it is more than just a fighting game. It gives me an experience that I always enjoyed from Tobal and Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max world tour mode. Tobal was the first fighting game to have an RPG element to it where you had to go through the maze and fight characters. But, I am not going to get ahead of myself just yet.

You are the Street Fighter:

Most of you may have played the demo already where you go into the World Tour mode and make your character where you start things off in Luke's Gym for training. Putting yourself in the game as a fighter traveling not just Metro City, but the world to meet other masters and learn from them to add to your character's arsenal of moves. It is a grind, but that is okay since you don't need to rush, or at least for me. So far I have unlocked Chun Li, Marisa, Dee Jay, Juri, Blanka, and of course Luke who you start off with. Leveling each master up with either gifts, interaction, or using their key style will help your journey along the way. As you do that you will unlock more abilities with said master.

Full range Action RPG since you will not only learn and do tasks for your masters, but the side quest and gear sets will have you customizing and adventuring for hours. There is also a skill tree where you will spend your points that will help you get through the city easily. However, switching to nighttime makes things dangerous as Gang Members will chase after you and they can come in different waves. Now, pay attention to each person you throw hands with as they will have their own set of rules to obtain the items they have with them. If you think you will mess up just hit start and retreat from the battle which takes 15 seconds. Then try fighting that person again to get the rewards. If you do win without doing the necessary things for the rewards you will have to wait for the next day to fight them again.

World tour mode is a vast playground to level up and you can level up pretty quickly before even going into the new areas or even unlocking the world map. The best thing is being able to switch from Modern controls to Classic. So, it all depends on your personal preference. Me, I am more of a Classic player because that's how I started off as.

When it comes to Arcade mode you will have access to all the fighters and see their stories separately. It is straightforward forward where you pick how many fighters from 6 to 12, the difficulty, rounds, and so on. Once done there you can try extreme battle for extra fun or dive into the practice to hone your skills better.

Then finally is the battle hub, the meat and potatoes of Street Fighter 6. A room filled with fighters from all over with arcade cabinets raging from regular casual fights where you can spectate and wait your turn to battle. To the classics area where you can get put on the leader board on what retro game from the Capcoms library is added on that day. There are also extreme battle cabinets as well. Pretty much a virtual experience that was the likes of IRL arcades back in the day. Have a seat or queue up to spectate the match and wait your turn. It's all up to you. Honestly, some people felt they needed to have a solo cabinet to practice, but I say just go to the arcade mode area and practice there in your own personal lab. The Battle Hub is there to throw hands and you can also set random fights to happen in both rank and casual while you walk around.

I also notice some people getting mad if they spot someone with Modern Controls entering their lobby, but I say this do not worry. Don't whine about it and just take them on. Modern controls are for those that probably never touched a fighting game before and want an easy go at it. Ranked matches do not allow Modern Controls, so there is nothing to worry about. I know that Modern controls have a slight advantage when it comes to easy combos and there seems to be no cool-down with moves, but that should give you more reason to adapt and master against M controls.

The Bad:

Honestly nothing really bad, just had two crashes but they were far from each other. It is not consistent and could be on my end, but other than that it runs smooth like butter.

Conclusion:

It is worth the buy and the experience. Street Fighter 6 feels solid and all-around for any newcomer who wants to get into fighting games. It's fun and has a lot to offer and this time a fighting game that feels complete in the sense that we don't have to wait for something that was promised like a game mode for it to drop later. I would just say take your time, have fun and enjoy the ride, it will be worth it. - Beast Out -
