For me Cyberpunk 2077 was a great story driven open world experience despite all the controversy surrounding it's launch.

From a technical perspective the game worked quite well on my machine, and although my RTX 2070 Super couldn't utelize all of the games graphics potential even at 1080p. It lookt stunning at around 50 to 60 fps (in crowded areas only just getting to 35) on high to ultra + raytracing but with dlss. But for me that was enough even though i'm used to CS:GO at 144hz. In turning down the graphic settings a little I could have easely achieved 60+ fps.

During my two playthroughs I encountered some bugs but I seemed to be lucky to only get minor ones like cliping errors, funky wehicle colision physics at time and randomly exploding boxes. The game crashed 2 times during my 100hrs of playtime. But I've seen far worse bugs on different systems.

For me the world of Cyberpunk was the most immersive of the open world games I played in recent history such as Assassins Creed Origins. The Charaters were convincing and believable even though it's sometimes made harder by the setting. I especially love that not only the main quest but also all sidequests have interesting characters and storys that fill the world with life. And even the rather generic contract works in wich you just retrieve "some laptop" have some little story, although not as extensive as the side quests.
I loved the size of the open world, wich feels really diverse and lively although the streets outside the town center are sometimes far to empty for my taste. It's small size cuts long traveltimes through "empty space" while still giving the experience of moving through a city. Due to the comparatively short ways I didn't fell the need to use fast travel (exept for some quests where an Npc drives especially slowly through the city but the conversation lasts only half the way), what was helped the immersion even more.
That together created a really immersive experience for me. But I maybe have a playstyle advantage as I don't enjoy GTA like fights with the police and thus didn't have any issues with their rather poor AI, wich breaks the immersion for some.

The games mechanics were not outstanding but didn't break the immersion for me. The stealth works good most of the times although sometimes enemys saw me through boxes or not untill I stood right in their face. The shooting mechanics can't quite keep up with pretty basic but really satisfying melee system, but works well after a short period of getting used to it. The same is true for the driving. Most vehicles have pretty a pretty different feeling on the road but even after some time there were some cars that I just couldn't really control. I really would have liked a way to customise my cars though especially because different variants are driving around the city and i'd often see the interior as I enjoyed to drive in first person from time to time.
The skilltree ist a little overwhelming at first but not all skills are equally usefull but lets you create pretty unique combinations. The inventory system works well and is what your would expect of a modern open world game. In the early game you're swapping weapons quite a lot even though you can upgrade them to keep up with the levels. But later I got good weapons as mission rewards that were made to stay with me to the end (maybe after some upgrading) what was really satisfying.

So all in all I loved the game and really enjoyed the rich, real and engaging storylines that invoked some thought about the future of tech in me. The technical state of the game for me was ok but not outstanding.
So I would fully recommend the game to you if you play open world Rpgs for interesting story and immersive worlds rather than endless possiblities and to create some chaos in it. But giving CD Project some time to fix the Bugs and so maybe getting a discount on it might be the safer route than to buy now hope it's running well on your machine.
