As I said, most of the time, this type of spam and necros have occurred because of people following incorrect or outdated guides, so I just opt for that rather than see someone get moderated for continued ineffectual spam posting.

Not old fashioned bud. Necroposting has been bad forum etiquette for the last 29.5 years. Unfortunately, there seems to be a lot of Steam guides out there that put out incorrect information on how to obtain badges which causes nothing but spam posting in the forums, of which Necro posting is considered a part, so when I see it, I let people know that you cannot obtain badges or achievements through spam posting, so we can keep the forums clear of as much nonsense as possible, because that makes them the least helpful.

maybe i'm old fashion but in my day if you have a question or query about something you first make a search for the topic and post your question there no matter how old the thread is someone with the knowledge would come along and give an answer.

These days i often see people make Thread after Thread asking the same question and unhelpful people fulling the thread with "oh it happens to me too" "etc

but in all my years i've never see someone come to my profile to tell me "There is no badge, nor achievement for necroing a 2 year old thread." that's i... wow
