Anon, the human body isn't as fragile as you think, a barbell on your back isn't gonna damage anything, just increase the weight in fairly small increments like 1-5kg when you can do a significant amounts of reps on the previous weight(i mainly lift in-between 8-12 reps, when i reach 12 reps, i increase the weight), unless you're a roider or doing some truly retarded exercise, you have nothing to worry about
