A fascinating spin upon the puzzle/detective genre, mechanically intriguing and logically sound. A highly enjoyable experience.

One of the greatest story experiences I have ever had in a game, with characters that portray themselves, their merits and their flaws wonderfully. The dialogue is also written wonderfully, setting the relationship and tension amongst various people without seeming clunky or trying too hard *cough* Life is Strange *cough*.

The visuals of the game are also astounding, the wonderful sights accompanied by a haunting and mystifying score by the ever enigmatic SCNTFC.

It even has incredible audience interaction, releasing a New Game + that provides a completlely new angle into the story, as well as an incredibly intricate and well prepared ARG that I have yet to be seen beaten in terms of quality.

Overall, a must-buy for anybody interested in the use of story and perception within games.

Basically 20 hours of 40K porn, in which you remind a certain armless failure of exactly where they belong.

Firewatch showcases some of the best possible facets of storytelling, allowing you to fully comprehend, interpret and forge the backstory for that character, and how they respond to scenarios and people. Many complaints about this game are due to the length of it compared to the price, and at $20, that's understandable, but when compared to a film at ~$15, this experience is far more fleshed out and comprehensive, displaying such a beautiful understanding of storytelling and intrigue that other games actively disappoint me at their lack of attempting to expend that much effort.

The aesthetic of the game allows for even the most mundane of sights to be wonderful experiences, with many humerous and interesting things hidden throughout the rather large and fluid map. For a "Walking Simulator" the game teaches you alot of mechanics, and uses the radio and your own observation as a genius supplement for a tutorial, as it revels in you finding new things to talk to Delilah about, with some of even the most minute details being well fleshed-out discussions that tell you more about not only your only companion, but yourself.

All these thoughts of pseudo-isolation are aided by the fact that you never actually SEE anybody else until very abruptly at the finale, allowing for an incredible amount of tension to be built during the mid to late area of the story, in which a mystery presents itself and is constantly elaborated upon, and evokes feelings that I personally have not felt since Lost, with the sensation of discovery being the most satisfied I've felt in a huge amount of time.

The music is the as the one that composed the music from Gone Home, which shows not only in the music, but the setting, as they are both set within the same time period and deal with the same themes of isolation and pseudo-horror. But, anyways, the music is incredible with a country-esque theme to it, being mixed with the 70s-80s synth, allowing for an incredible range to be achieved and atmosphere to not only be built, but amplified.

Another thing about this game that has brought a large amount of flak to it is the ending, being criticised as too sudden and not closing every topic brought up, when for me, (Though most certainly not for all) it closes itself just as it started, by using you, it has you think about all of the possibilites and results of the ending via providing no definitive one, hell, if you want to, you can even refuse the ending and allow it to resolve in one singular way, via doing nothing.

And to revisit the earlier topics in a TL;DR format, the Art Style is outright beautiful, with an incredible amount of thought being poured into it, the story is one of 3 that have permanently stuck with me (The others being Bastion and Transistor) due to just how well and intelligently made it was, and this game even excels in the area of game design itself, even though, due to the medium of the game being a "Walking Simulator" isn't even close to being held back.

All in all, I would recommend buying this game, downloading, turning your internet and lights off, and then taking a few hours to allow this game to dazzle you. (And I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ refuse to give a numbered score, because that's just really stupid.)

Overall, my review for this game is positive but I honestly wouldn't reccommend buying it unless it's in either a bundle or on heavy discount, but, I digress.

Gone Home is an excellenty pieced together game about atmosphere, in which you have to explore the narrative of surrounding characters and your own. The major thing that stuck out to me in this game is how it managed to trick quite a few people into believing it would be a horror game. The way the game does this is quite ingenious, as it uses everything that people have learned from other first-person exploration games like this one to make you believe that therte is some threat in the house.

Do I think this is game of the decade? By no means. Do I think it's a damn fine experience? Absolutely.

This game exemplifies all of the issues with the genre of visual novels. The artwork is awful, even for the standards of a kindergartener, and the dialogue comes off only as long-winded drawl, the only purpose of which is to fulfill the dreams of the author.

Now, when "playing" this game, I felt that the entire setting seemed rather suspicious, now, as I was not paying attention, to the naked eye, it appeared that you moved into your Grandfather's house, in which he was keeping a harem of incubus demon-boys, who then persist to constantly molest and do things to you.

All in all, it's free, so none of this even ♥♥♥♥♥♥' matters, but this game isn't worth 10 minutes. So please. Just play it until you get the Dad Approves achievement and then close it.
