This is very specific game for very specific tastes.

In terms of progression and meta mechanics it's similar to something like Diablo, Nioh or any given only action game like PSO2, Vindictus or Warframe. You're supposed to replay the same content over and over on progressing difficulties to become stronger yourself and progress further, it's basically a loop. It's not endless, but if you like it, it can offer hundreds of hours of gameplay. I've spent over 300 hours in Nioh 2 for example, before doing everything there is to do, it's that deep.

In terms of combat it's a mix between dynasty warriors (gundam) and devil may cry. You can juggle enemies, and float in the air yourself while comboing. You can mix and match normal, special (OP) and super (EX) attacks to make lengthy flash combos, while fighting enemies. There are ultimate (burst) attacks to. The longer your combo is, the more bonuses you get, it's more transparent grade system similar to DMC, but instead of letters you're outright told what bonuses you get for better combos.
You still get letters for missions though, based on time and amount of parts you've broken off enemies. There isn't SS or SSS though, only S.

And finally, at least 50% of your play time, or even more, you're expected to spend in character editor, in this case plastic model editor, where you mix and match parts of your toy robot, paint them, upgrade them, fine-tune and min-max their stats. It's simpler and more accessible system than Nioh 2, but still pretty deep and can change how you approach combos and bosses.

However, if you don't like robots, or grinding, or looping gameplay progression, or unrealistic floaty combat with juggles and combos, then you won't like the game.
