This game is great, you've probably noticed everyone on your friends list has been playing it, and I'm not sure I can add anything that others haven't already mentioned. What I can do is to clarify what's the "Super Citizen" bundle gives you. Primarily, it's a "developer support" thing because most of the stuff it gives you in-game isn't particularly notable, and it's largely cosmetic. But, to clarify:
- The cape is purely cosmetic, as only body armor at this time has any in-game modifiers.
- The "Super Citizen Status" is a title and is cosmetic. You can use it to show you're a supporter, otherwise your in-game rank is displayed.
- The armor set is perfectly viable, but there are probably others that you'll unlock that you'd prefer using (e.g. I use light armor with the "Scout" passive that gives you a stealth bonus.) So it's not strictly cosmetic, but I'd be surprised if any more than a minority of players actually choose to use this armor over other options.
- There's a mini-game unlocked in your ship. It's technically functional (it's basically to help you practice entering the QTE codes, I guess.) So it's mostly fluff, I think I played with it once.
- The weapon unlocked is an SMG, and I don't think it's particularly good, but it's notable in that it's a primary weapon and is one-handed, so you can use it (over most, 2-handed options) while running away, holding a ballistic shield, and carrying an objective item. So it works, but you'll unlock better weapons quickly and probably won't use this.

- That leaves us with the most significant thing unlocked with the special edition: the "Premium Warbond." Warbonds are not "season pass" things as have been erroneously described by some, they're actually the unlock trees (which are permanently available once you've gained access to them) for your main equipment (i.e. primary & secondary weapons, armor & cosmetics, emotes, and boosters (mission modifiers/mutators.) There's already a main "warbond" where you'll get most of your equipment, and one, soon to be two at the time of writing, add-on warbands that are unlockable with the in-game "super credits" currency. This "premium" warbond is a few pages of optional, decent equipment that's otherwise unnecessary and is priced higher than stuff from the main warbond.

So to sum up, buy the special edition for an extra $20 if you want to support the developers, which I think is a worthy cause considering what they've accomplished so far in bringing this great game to reality. You're most likely not otherwise going to make use of most of the in-game content you unlock with this, though.
