If you want the proper Halo experience, this is the Collection for you.
It includes the arguably best Halo games of all time, my favorites, and Halo 4.

Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach will always have a special place in my heart for being the Halo titles I played the most (and to this day love the most), and to anyone who never played through them:
What are you waiting for?
You're missing out on masterpieces.

Halo: CE Anniversary and Halo 2: Anniversary are excellent experiences in their own right, don't get me wrong, but some gameplay elements from the older titles are simply missing.

Why did I exclude Halo 4 from the praise you may ask?
Well, the Campaign is decent (So long as you have read 3 Books explaining the history of the Forerunners), but being the first full Halo by 343i you can probably see that they tried to leave their mark.
It's a neat Campaign, but as I always like to say: It plays like Call of Duty with a Halo skin - not my cup of tea, and the MJOLNIR designs are just straight up ugly-.

All of that said, I still heavily recommend the full package, and to play through ALL of the Campaigns.
You'll love it - I guarantee.

If you're tipping your toes into Halo for the first time, let me recommend you in which order to play them to have the proper canonical experience:

  • Halo: Reach
  • Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
  • Halo 2: Anniversary
  • Halo 3: ODST
  • Halo 3
  • Halo 4

Oh, did I mention that the Multiplayer part has proper progression, permanent Seasons with no FOMO, a custom Server Browser, and so much more?
You're guaranteed to get your fill, no matter if you prefer Single Player or Multiplayer (PVE OR PVP)
