I know this game is objectively good and should be praised for it's practices, but my personal experience with it has been horrible and stressful. And not just because of the insane amounts of bugs and oversights, but those aren't helping either.

My favorite D&D race and class were openly admitted to being nerfed by the developers to discourage players from playing it because of their personal agenda against "boring" players who actually enjoy Human Fighter, which is a very large majority by the way. Glad they insulted a majority of their player base just for having their own way of enjoying D&D. Which is ironic because D&D is all about personal choice.

I played on tactician, because I'm confident in my skills. But giving every enemy +2 to Armor Class, Saving Throws, Attack Rolls, Spell Save DCs, overinflating HP values and giving every spellcaster Hold Person is NOT how you balance. Also, why does every enemy need to have player abilities? In D&D it's limited to unique NPCs.

I also didn't want to abuse death pits, exploits and explosive barrels or the busted throwing weapon build but it feels 100% necessary if you want to make a non-paladin melee character.

Also I decided I wanted to resist the tadpoles because that's what my character would do, as like most human fighter enthusiasts, I typically dislike borrowing magical abilities in story. But apparently they're the most busted abilities in the game, so been playing on super hard mode from the start.

I also feel punished for playing co-op with a group of friends and all making unique characters, because the origin characters get unique op abilities. It seems like you're mostly rewarded for being a "barrelmancing" munchkin in this game. Thank you for the migraine.

This game is great, the best part is going beyond and turning your game into a Power-Point presentation with an insane build.

Only issue is there's a lot of upgrades that are complete traps. Especially most of the "legendary rarity" ones.

I cannot recommend Elden Ring to a FromSoft lover. I genuinely hate this game.

I have been a Dark Souls fan for as long as I can remember, passionately loving these games and taking pride in mastering them.
The games have consistently been stellar and challenging, and the PvP has always served as a fun and further challenging option to do when you've done everything else, serving as the game's true end-game.

This game however, has issues. The PvE is a complete joke. There are a plethora of ways to effortlessly mow down enemies and bosses alike like they're nothing, even end-game. Be it spamming weapons that seemingly deal much more than intended damage, or insanely over-tuned magic, or bleed.

Never before has a FromSoftware game been this easy. It doesn't feel rewarding to win at all, even if you try to play normally. It's discouraged and upsetting, because others can beat all the bosses in this game with their eyes closed, pressing only one button.
Skill is completely absent in this game.

The same issues, except worse, leaks into the PvP. Luckily Elden Ring has a ton of PvE content to keep you distracted. But some, like myself, actually want to do PvP and see it as more than just end-game content.
The PvP however, is beyond disappointing, sad, or funny. It is disturbing, how many oversights this game has of exploits, overpowered weapons, builds, spells and status effects.
Even changes that differ from their other games, like the dodging, bleed stagger, seemingly infinite amount of FP, jumping attacks, the inconsistent stagger/poise system, and much more makes the combat objectively worse.

On top of that, there are more technical, disconnecting, and crashing issues than I can name, even after the fixes.
I once got soft-banned for several days because my game crashed during co-op a few times.

Elden Ring has disappointed me thoroughly, but I must give credit where it's due.
The game is beautiful, with a large winding landscape filled to the brim with content and adventure. The characters are nicely designed and the story intriguing. Though there is a ton of reused assets, power-creep, and putting two previous bosses that don't belong together in the same room.

I would recommend this game only if you're NOT abusing the endless amount of exploits, over-tuned weapon art damage, overpowered spells and status effects at your disposal. But even then it just feels like you're needlessly limiting yourself, discouraging fun.
The PvP is irredeemable however. Embarrassingly bad. A joke. Players will go back to Dark Souls 3 soon enough.

Elden Ring is disappointingly bad.
I wish this game was as good as people claim, but I can't lie to myself.

Edit: Please PLEASE turn on the Dark Souls 3 servers already, or give us Bloodborne, I need to play a good Fromsoftware game again, PLEASE. I hate this game so much, I still try to play it because there's no other souls-like PvP & Co-op but it's so trash with countless issues. I beg you end my suffering one way or the other.

So, I've played this game and I love how good it is. It's more like you're in a proper realistic brawl instead of being rewarded for unskillfully jigging a weapon around, like a different game that's needlessly popular. Cough cough Blade & Sorcery...

But it's not perfect either. I love the way you have to get around enemies' armor by grabbing, and shoving and pushing enemies prone, but you can't do the same thing with the skeleton enemies, or later, the living armor. Which leads me to my main complaint. Throw as many enemies at me as you want, with as much armor as possible, cause I love getting rough, while precisely jabbing the sharp end of my blade up under their helmets for a one-shot, grabbing heads for accurately penetrating between armor, etc... But when you add a few skeletons to the mix, (and late game ONLY skeletons and Living Armor for some stupid reason...) I have to turn my blade around and continuously hit them in the head, over and over and over for each individual skeleton and I hate it. It's exhausting, it ruins the momentum of a fight, and it looks really dumb.

I wish I could recommend the game to friends and family because I love it a lot. It does a lot of things right, but if I wanna use a blade weapon (which is why I play VR fighting games, as I'm a sword lover) having to mordhau my weapon a solid 90% of the time, with the same downward motion of smashing over and over and over, it's just a bad design, especially when there's no other way to deal with them.

Maybe adding a glowing crystal to the skeletons that you can stab to oneshot them would be a good idea. Being located on different body parts, like inside the eye, inside the mouth, or in the ribcage.

Oh, and please add an infinite mode with choosable enemies and numbers! And less load times, or at least give us the option to choose to go to the next wave/level immediately, so you don't have to load in and out the hub area every time. Again, just ruins my momentum.

The previous Ori game always had a close place in my heart, and has been my favorite game since it came out.. Until now.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps may be lacking in the story department in comparison, however this is more than made up for with the new combat, gameplay, sequences and cutscenes. They nearly completely blow my expectations out to space, which is very impressive considering my expectations were already sky-high.
