My Gaming Story (Oh, Here We Go)

It all started back in 2004 with my first handheld console, a Gameboy. What did I play? All those classic 100 arcade games bundled together. That was my intro to gaming, and honestly, it was a great time.

Then in 2005, my uncle introduced me to PC gaming. Wow, what a game-changer that was. Need for Speed: Underground 2 was all the rage, and I still remember the multiplayer. Oh, and Counter-Strike 1.6. LAN matches with my uncle and cousin were a blast. Those were some legendary moments.

Around 2006 or 2007, my uncle set me up with Need for Speed: Most Wanted. That game was a masterpiece and made me fall in love with racing games forever. Shortly after, I got a PSP and jumped into games like Ratchet & Clank and, of course, more racing games. That was also when Call of Duty entered my life. On a PSP, no less. I even tried COD on a Nintendo 3DS. It wasn’t great, but hey, it stuck with me.

Speaking of the PSP, I have to mention the GTA classics like San Andreas, Vice City, and Liberty City Stories. Those games were pure chaos, and I loved every second of it.

When my PC finally died, I was stuck with a potato laptop. That’s when I discovered Call of Duty 4. Sure, it was cracked, and sure, it ran like a slideshow, but it worked. I’ll never forget the sheer terror of the Aftermath mission. Seriously, that mission haunted me.

At some point, I got into Contract Wars on Facebook, which pulled me deeper into FPS gaming. Funny enough, the devs behind that game later made Escape from Tarkov. I also spent plenty of time on arcade machines like Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune. I loved those racing games, even though I couldn’t drive to save my life.

Eventually, I got my own laptop, a Lenovo Ideapad Z500 with a GT740 graphics card. Back then, it was an absolute beast with a touchscreen. Everyone at school thought it was the coolest thing ever. Good times for sure.

My Thoughts on Gaming:

Gaming has always been more than just a hobby for me. It’s a way to connect with people, whether it’s playing LAN matches with my uncle and cousin, meeting new friends online, or just talking about games with others who love them as much as I do.

Some of my proudest moments are tied to gaming, like beating tough missions or finally mastering a difficult level. It’s also my escape after a long day. Whether I’m diving into an open-world adventure or just playing a quick match, gaming helps me relax and recharge.

Over the years, it’s been amazing to see how much gaming has evolved. From the pixelated worlds on handheld consoles to today’s massive open worlds and ultra-realistic graphics, it’s a journey I’ve been lucky to experience.

For me, gaming isn’t just fun. It’s good for your mind, great for your soul, and always worth the time.
