Even after almost 11 years since it's release and not getting a proper update since January 2015, Source Filmmaker is still one of if not the easiest 3D animation softwares to get into animation, though it is not the best 3D animation software out there due to the lack of updates and overall performance issues on older computers, despite this, Source Filmmaker still gets new maps, models, etc. on the workshop almost everyday, which is crazy for a discontinued software, so if you're just dipping your toes in 3D animation i would recommend Source Filmmaker, however, if you're scratching for something more advanced, i would keep scratching for another 3D animation software.
