Nothing gives you the feeling of riding around in a multi-ton war machine quite like Mechwarrior. For those thinking this game was going to be like MWO, it never was. Mechs in this era are clunkier, slower, less powerful, less heat efficient, and more fragile than their post clan war counterparts, which just makes the game feel different. Without extrended range laser, myriads of gauss rifles and LB-X autocannons fights are up more close and personal, with far less effective weapons fights seem slower and more tense, with older and heavier endo steel armor can fit fewer heavier weapons to the usual mech chassis, but with the relative ineffectiveness of other weapons of the day the death punch of an AC-20 and the rain of despair that is a pair of LRM-20's just feel more satisfying. The slower mechs feel as if they have more weight, you don't feel like you're piloting some godmachine that senses the movements you want to make before you do, magically landing on target just in time for you to pull the triggers. You feel like you're wrangling your mechs, forcing the machines to move and turn, fighting to control them like the multi-ton behemoths they are. It just feels right. It feels like we finally get to play a Mechwarrior game.

I came for the relaxing and chill hunting game, stayed for the genuinely charming and completely unexpected stories, and then stayed longer for the chill and relaxing hunting that is at times almost too realistic.

In all seriousness, the thing that surprises me most is just how much work goes into each of the parks. They all have a fully voices story with hours of content and huge maps to explore, as well as new animals to hunt and a new weapon to hunt with here and there. And the weapon packs, holy hell! When they're on sale they go for less than 3 bucks and come with at least 3 guns and mods for them, that you just get, there's no BS, and as someone who owns a few of these guns they're done quite realistically! This game has by far the most fair pricing model I've ever seen, and its micro transactions are truly micro. You get a boat load of content and a nice casual game for your buck here. If you're looking for a relaxing and realistic experience, this is your jam.

The scope of this game is so small, yet so compelling. The Battletech universe is vast and rich with detail, and this is just the smallest snapshot, and it's amazing.

One of the greatest games ever made. Subnautica plays off of you. The speed at which you can progress in the game is determined only by your bravery, how far you're willing to swim from safety, how deep you're willing to dive, and how close you're willing to get to the creatures inhabiting the deep. It's thrilling and wonderous, terrifying and touching, and so much more game than the price shows. It's a must have.

Seriously, buy it.

Civilization is a game of chess, where the pieces have simple rules that on their own are easy to understand. In chess you play with pawns, rooks, and kings, and in Civilization you play with cities, soldiers, and land. It's easy to get a natural grasp of a Civ game. You know intuitively that unites travel faster on roads, and marshes and forests slow them down, and you have to siege a city before it can be taken by force. There's little complexity in the rules for an individual piece, however, the complexity of having many pieces on the board at the same time makes it a taxing game for even a skilled tactitian at higher difficulties. This is not wrong. This is how Civilization is supposed to work.

Civ 6 breaks that mould, and not for the better. It keeps the massive ammount of pieces, but the complexity of the rules that each piece follows has been altered, drastically. If you want to build The Colluseum in Civ 5 you research construction before the other players, and funnel as much resource into the city building the Colluseum as you can, beating the other nations to it. It's a brute force approach for a reason, because you're trying to fight off the 4th invading barbarian spearman rampaging through Avignon in the last 3 turns. In Civ 6, you still have to do the necessary research, and you still have the barbarian spearman to deal with, however, now, in order to build the Colusseum you must first build an Entertainmant district that takes up one of the resource tiles around your city that you've been using for farm land to keep your city alive. This takes you about 20 turns in a Marathon game. Then you have to build a theatre in that theatre district, which takes another 30 turns. Then, you can finally build the Colusseum... which takes up another resource tile that you've been using as a farm to feed your rather angry city at this point. Now, with the lack of food and expanded housing, because you've been trying to build a wonder for last 120 plus turns in your capital city and simply had time, your people are on the verge of revolt. If they DO revolt they'll spawn barbarian versions of units you've researched around the city that's in revolt, and quite suddenly your capital is surrounded by 4 barbarian knights and a crossbowman that will then start raiding and pillaging the theatre and Colusseum that has just taken you 120 turns to build. Did I mention this is on the Prince (normal) difficulty?

This is the first time a new civilization game has come out that, I believe, is not better than its predecessor. It dumps too much complexity into a place where it is simply not necissary, and it's turned the game into an unforgiving number crunch that, in my view, simply isn't fun. Civ 5 still stands as the best Civilization game. I can only label Civ 6 a dissapointment.
