The lack of a decent anti-cheat, weak-willed devs when it come to combating cheaters is not helping while the player base is already really small at the moment.

for example, i saw 3 newbie cheaters coming back consistently rage hacking over 6 months and still hasn't been banned (they were rage hacking with seemingly unlimited stamina, no cd penalty for failed parry, modified windup time and feint-able time window, auto-parry, etc) and that's probably is just actual newbie with cheat, someone with some experience with the game trying to hide it is a lot harder to prove or spot.

reporting closet cheaters will result in realizing the mods are incompetent and unable to spot inhuman mouse movement, lock on that most players i sent videos to can spot. They will then proceed to gaslighting you and said you spreading misinformation and mute you while your 4 days old tickets has no one looked at while 4 different mods are sending memes in general discord chat.

a quick google for how often people meet cheater in mordhau in 2022 resulting in more sites selling cheat than people still actually care and update about the current state of the game for the developers.

as for balancing, the game is in a decent state right now except for some weapon that is just simply way too good compare to the rest for both accel/drag, you prob will see every sweat hold a greatsword and spam combo-to-feint-parry

as long as you don't take the game too seriously and having a group of friends to mess around with, the game is still solid at it core.

as for new contents... don't get your hope up, for the last 1 year there is 1 voice pack DLC and 1 or 2 cosmetic DLC with a couple cosmetic update for existing armors and weapons and that's it. Will the be another big patch with new maps and/or new equipments? no, not anytime soon i'm afraid
