I started this game back in 2020 but because of the poor launch and my PC of that time couldn't handle the game in 21:9. I decided to wait for patches and for better PC and while I waited for few years I read and listened how everything is wrong with this game, how patches cant save this because it's whole core gameplay needs to be changed to fix it. Might be a matter of personal taste or the wrong image people had about this game (bad overhyped marketing) but only things I think needed actual change were police system, driving and the botched lifepaths.

RPGish gunplay is always kinda hard to nail down when you are just shooting mostly humans, it's nothing to boast about but it serves it purpose with fun and unique guns to play with. Quickhacking is like throwing spells mid combat/sneaking which makes things bit more interesting. Meat of the game is the stories it tells through main story and side jobs, which are good and made me care about people and get invested into their stories. pulling my heartstrings a bit with certain scenes.

Overall the wait was worth it for this journey, it offers some memorable moments and characters that will stick with me and when that ending credits scene hits with that music it got that rush of emotions out of me thinking about everything I've just experienced and accomplished. Still CDPR botched the launch and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ this up for so many and wasting their trust they had built with Witchers, its hard to justify positive reviews for this game to some but for me personally this is now a good game after the patches and with the expansion coming out next year I'm actually excited to return to Night City but I will not buy the expansion until I've seen some trustworthy reviews. 8/10 never fade away. CDPR build your trust back to what it was and prove yourselves once again.

yeah definitely if you have starting point of the current version players will have far more positive outlook on the game

I didn't get to experience the launch but from what I hear it was incredibly bad. I own the game on GOG and I played like a year or two after launch, and the game is pretty good! I will say that the game was greatly overhyped and so it's missing a lot of things that were promised/people thought were gonna be there, but if you were to play 2077 with no prior bias you would probably find the game to be extremely enjoyable. I'm just glad this game is starting to become more liked.

I don't understand the problem with the buggy launch lmao. The game is fixed now so there is no problem really and im sure theyll learn their lesson for next time

Pubert trying to act like hes some messiah of games lmao. Its been a thing forever.. with broken releases.

2077 is NOT the worst.. Arkham Knights had to be pulled off steam for being so broken.

Does it excuse it? No.
Are these jackoffs trying to be cool by bashing 2077? Yeah.

Do you know what prove yourself means in this context then? Means dont do that kinda of shit anymore with awful launch of your next game or the DLC
Pubert 4 Jan, 2023 @ 8:38pm
how is a launch like that forgivable at all? Saying "prove yourself once again is the stupidest shit ive ever heard. cdpr isnt some tiny indie studio, they are huge, they know what they did, and that shouldnt be forgotten or forgiven tbh. people complain about triple A games always being buggy on launch yet continue to buy them. the big corporations are always one step ahead i guess, serve up some more goyslop in the form of anime to the masses and theyll forget that you just scammed them

Yes and thats why I gave it a positive review

Do remember that you're playing a far superior version to what the game was at launch. It really was as much of a mess as people said, albeit a very fun mess.
