maybe multiplayer would give you more to do?
in servers people tend to survive by hiding in deep space, then when they reach that point of being built up, they build warships and take them to the planet to destroy the noobs that didnt know better then to try building up on the planet, lol.

@grim - it scratches the factorio itch! Mostly single player, tend to go through heavy plathroughs and then stall once I've collected uranium/built a big base in space
