If you liked the first one, you'll probably love this one.
There are some differences.
- The maps are massive but still very pretty and differently themed. Small downside: there's more walking, due to the scale (player speed not adjustable in this btw). Also if you're not great with navigating, you might get lost a few times on the later ones, but there is a compass thing (think Skyrim, but no map).
- The star puzzles work a bit differently in general. There's different types of them, but they still span the entire map, like in the first game.
- The actual puzzles have more elements and therefore mechanics. The "recorder" thing has been replaced with something else, so you don't have to sit on a button for a minute while it records etc. but, the new mechanic is still like co-op with yourself basically.
- There's a few more puzzles than the first one and I'd say the game is a bit longer. I'm afraid I can't really tell you how the difficulty compares, since I've gotten a bit faster with these in general, it's been a moment since I first played the first game and I've also played the first game a few more times since then.
- There's more voice acting, music etc.
- Keep in mind: this one's a bit heavier than the first one, my computer had trouble running this one with full settings, but I could get away with only lowering a couple of them (though, I'm personally also cool with ~50 fps in games like these lol).
- If your computer is struggling, you might miss a tiny bit of dialog here and there while your computer is loading a map. At least as of writing this - they might fix that eventually and they've already released a few hotfixes for other stuff. You can still read what was said afterwards, in text form, in a log tab.
- You can pet the kitty.
