While in it's current state, Rivals of Aether does not provide a lot of content for casual players. This will mostly like be less of a problem in the final version, with the addition of more players online and different ways to play. If you're looking for a good competitive platform fighting game, though, Rivals of Aether is an excellent choice. It has a somewhat active matchmaking, as well a extremely welcoming and helpful community on Reddit/Discord.

Personally, it's my favorite platform fighter of all time, and if you're looking for something worth getting good at, I have to recommend it.
