Storror Parkour Pro – Early Impressions

The vision for SPP is clear. It’s still in early access, but for the price and overall gameplay quality, there’s a lot of potential along with some things that need work to get more players on board.

Camera Issues

The camera has improved usability but still needs polishing. However, I can pass by this for now during early access.

Controls & Feel

The control scheme offers a lot of depth, which is great, but it needs a better balance between realism and accessibility. Right now, it feels more technical than fun. Some adjustments could make movement more fluid and intuitive without taking away from the skill-based gameplay. Even after nearly six hours in, I feel like the controls get in the way of actually playing the game. Some customizability for controls would be great.

Input Delay

The floaty nature of the game isn’t terrible, but the input delay adds up. When trying to throw a line, it feels like you hit your combos and just hope they land. That said, the input latency and action queueing are improving with more settings being added.

Tutorial & Learning

The tutorial does a good job of explaining things, and now it’s replayable, which is a great improvement. This allows players to refine or re-learn what they are struggling with at any time.

UI & Menus

The menus look clean but feel clunky due to scaling issues. Shrinking them by about 50% and using a more traditional navigation layout would help a lot. Having quick access to the main menu and tutorial would also improve the experience. Some UI elements feel oversized, making navigation feel slower and more cumbersome than it should be. While these issues don’t directly affect gameplay, it is super easy to accidentally close the game, which can be frustrating.

Multiplayer & Future Potential

I really want to see this game succeed, especially with multiplayer being a major focus. Multiplayer is now working and is a ton of fun, as expected. Hopefully, we can have collision-free options as well for busy spots. The potential for community-driven content and competitive play is exciting.

World Design & Gameplay Balance

The world design has its strengths, and I’ve enjoyed the urban landscape. I think there’s something for each type of player. However, one frustrating issue is how easily your character bails and takes serious damage just from walking into small ledges. While this might be considered realistic, it ultimately makes the game frustrating when it happens countless times within the first few hours of gameplay. Climbing walls with a horizontal pipe running across them can also cause repetitive bailing issues, which can be annoying.

Pricing & Value

The game has a strong foundation, but refining the camera, controls, tutorial, and UI would make it much better. At its current price, it doesn’t fully reflect what you’d expect from an early access title. For some countries, the price is a little steep, which could be a barrier for new players.

Developer Support

I’m happy with the awesome work the devs have quickly applied, and they are super helpful on Discord in addressing concerns. Their responsiveness gives me confidence in the game’s future.
