I don't understand the hate for this DLC. I think it's the best DLC FromSoftware has made to date and whenever I replay Elden Ring, this will be what I look forward to the most. The bosses are fantastic and the world design is truly a step above what we saw in the base game. I fell in love with the geography and verticality. Wracking my brain to figure out how to traverse the landscape was a great time. The developers did a great job of teasing you with places you could see but not immediately get to. The environments and color tones were also very cool and different from what we've seen before.

The amount of content you get with this DLC is kind of insane. Well worth $40. It feels like another half of the game.

I do not think it is too difficult. It is meant to be end-game content. And honestly, I thought they did a way better job of scaling the world than in their other DLCs for previous Souls games. As an example, in the Ringed City for DS3, there were points where I would rather run past the enemies than fight them. I never felt that way with this DLC.

Some side notes: The Scadutree fragments were a brilliant idea that not only help to incentive exploration, but also help to maintain SL150 and keep the base game relevant. Much like how if you were met with a wall in Elden Ring, you can explore, find some shards, grow stronger, and come back. It is a customizeable difficulty. Shadow Keep rocks. The Ruins of Rauh were so sick. Lots of cool new weapons, armor, and spells to keep you coming back.

Cons: The world isn't the most item-laden. There can be barren stretches at times. But that is easy to overlook because the joy I got from exploration, discovery, and navigation amounted to something greater than a new set of armor. That being said, there are only so many things that the developers can offer you once you've beaten the base game and have the bell bearings for all the smithing stones.

I don't like this game. It's not fun for me and pretty much everything about it pisses me off. I'm not gonna touch on the optimization issues because everyone else already has. But I will use this space to vent because I am a huge monster hunter fan and I'm really disappointed with the new direction they've taken the series in.

I do not understand why they would place such a large focus on the story. Why on earth are there so many cutscenes and unskippable/uninteractable walking sections before you can play the game? It's a miserable realization when you recognize the pattern of having to go through multiple cutscenes, dialogues, and unskippable walking segments in order to progress and actually hunt a monster. Multiplayer is more difficult than ever to get going as well. It's like they took all the wrong lessons from World.

Furthermore, as someone that really liked Rise and the addition of the dog, I think the dog is 1000x better than the bird. Controlling the bird is so freaking frustrating. You have to fight it the whole time. it doesn't stop when you tell it to stop. The only solution is to set it to autopilot and the autopilot doesn't work well. It ruins the immersion in my opinion. The map design suffers heavily because of this as well.

I dunno. It feels like Monster Hunter isn't being made for me anymore. And that sucks. Bring back the quest log, the gathering hub, key quests, and skippable cutscenes. I'm not here for half-baked dialogue trees and RPG elements. I'm here for the grind and the hunt.

I like this game. It is on the shorter side, but that's totally okay for $5. I enjoyed spending a day getting immersed in the world of FlyKnight. I particularly enjoyed the fishing. I thought the fish you could catch were all very cute and the buffs they provided were well-implemented.

I hope to see a sequel with a longer quest, a leveling system, and some tidied up mechanics.

My one critique is that I think stamina regenerates a little too slowly. It's optimal to wear light armor, but it's a $5 game. I can't harp on it too much.

I greatly enjoy Lunacid. At the time of writing this, I'm on my second playthrough.

This is a game that doesn't really hold your hand and let's you run free right from the gate to explore its beautifully crafted world, clearly inspired by Dark Souls and King's Field.

The atmosphere and music are very special. It really feels like you're playing a fever dream brought to digital form. The gameplay is satisfactory with some nice feedback sounds in combat. But, the RPG leveling, weapon ugprade system, and the joy of discovery is really where its at.

Above all, you'll be more than entertained by just trying to navigate Lunacid's strange and perplexing labyrinths. Attempting to create a mental map of where you've been is fun in and of itself.

Persona 5 was a game that I wanted to love very badly. The presentation is nothing short of amazing. The music and the visuals are in a league of their own. The gameplay has some interesting battle mechanics with techs, persona negotiations, baton passing, etc. And lastly, the persona fusing system is unique and sufficiently complex.

The concept of having your team comprised of thieves was genius. It allowed the developers to elevate the palaces (dungeons) to new heights. Innovative ideas include stealth, verticality, and stealing.

But... There is far too much downtime watching cutscenes and reading dialogue. I can deal with that in moderation, but we're talking hours of cutscenes and dialogue before you get back to playing the game sometimes. This is worsened due to the fact that the characters are shallow and poorly written. They will often repeat the same general train of thought over and over again.

The social link / slice of life portion of the game is sort of interesting, but it's not for me. It never feels like you're accomplishing much cleaning the coffee shop night after night, all the while failing to see an improvement in your skills.

Awesome game with fun movement systems. The art-style and themes work very well. And of course, the soundtrack makes the game.

Edit: Holy moly the mods for this game are insane. Look into movement plus, bomb rush radio, and character skins. Those add so much replay value.

Final Thoughts: The creator of the movement plus mod deserves anything and everything this world has to offer. Team Reptile inadvertently created the greatest high speed platformer known to mankind.

I like this game a lot. As a life-long Melee player, the developers nailed it. The movement is buttery smooth. I think the parry adds a lot as well.

They patched it. The new stages and survivors are cool.

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak is an incredible game. I think part of what made me dislike Rise initially was because it was my first time playing a "high rank" only title, hot off the heels of Iceborne (and the fact that I bought it on Switch, the most underpowered console known to man). Later on I did go back and play Portable 3rd, but really I think my opinion was affected so heavily because Iceborne was such a banger game and the expectations were set so astronomically high for the next entry.

The amount of content that Sunbreak has is mindboggling. The build variety is great and the monster variety feels like it might be the best in the series. There are variants on variants. It's so cool to see Gore Magala, Espinas, and Astalos in the same game. It's wild. All of the new original fights are fantastic as well, with Malzeno being one of the best elder dragons they've ever made in my opinion - aesthetically and mechanically.

The new switch skills and switch skill related mechanics really fill in the gaps and flesh out the game. I also have no doubt in my mind that the AI hunting companions will return in future games. That was a great addition and I'd like to see that fleshed out to the point where you can gear them as well and create their builds on top of your own.

Very interesting and experimental game that I think will be looked back upon fondly as time goes on.

In my eyes, Sunbreak = Generations Ultimate 2. The only improvement they could make is remove Almudron and put in Glavenus.
