If I had to describe this game in a single word: Frustration.

I really want to like this game. It's cute, I like the story, and the raid mechanics are great, but at the same time, it's just too much randomness for me. Maybe I just dislike Roguelites, maybe the genre just isn't for me, but it becomes frustrating when you get a loot item that synergizes with a specific skill upgrade from the shop... that never materializes. Or, you get the perfect shop upgrades... and then the one loot item you need for the build to come alive never materializes. Loot and shop upgrades are what make or break your run, more than any amount of skill, and I just can't bring myself to call that "fun."

When Toybox mode was first hinted at, I thought this might be the answer to my problems with this game. I thought. I hoped. I was wrong. My hopes were dashed. Toybox mode was a useless addition that I haven't even touched more than once. Instead of being analogous to the "Artifact of Command" from Risk of Rain, it's a simple debug room with a training dummy you can test items out on. It doesn't address the core issues with the game's reliance on RNG, and for players like me, it's a missed opportunity.

In the end, Rabbit & Steel is a game that feels like it should be more enjoyable than it is. There are moments of brilliance buried under layers of frustrating randomness, but unless you're someone who thrives on the unpredictable nature of Roguelites, you might find yourself more annoyed than entertained. It has its charm, but for me, the frustration outweighs the fun.

We won, Helldivers. Sony has reversed course on the PSN decision. Our brothers in non-PSN countries will continue to be allowed to dive with us!

I really love this game. After feeling betrayed by Disney and Star Wars, I was in search of a new Sci-Fi series to fill that void. Helldivers has become that series for me. It masterfully satirizes militarism and portrays a dystopian future, yet it remains an incredibly fun militaristic game, striking a beautiful balance.

The gameplay is challenging but can be overcome with teamwork. It really captures the feeling of being part of a cohesive unit facing overwhelming odds. Every mission feels like a high-stakes operation where strategy, coordination, and quick decision-making are crucial. The thrill of successfully completing a tough mission with your squad is exhilarating and keeps pulling me back for more.

Graphically, Helldivers 2 shines with its detailed environments and dynamic weather effects that not only enhance the visual appeal but also significantly impact gameplay. The sound design is impeccable, with the roar of gunfire and the cries of distant enemies fully immersing you in the chaotic world of Helldivers.

But all of this pales in comparison to the vibrant community that has formed around this game. It’s easy for newcomers to integrate, with veteran Helldivers eager to help you get up to speed. The memes are genuinely funny, and some of the fan art I've seen is absolutely stunning. The developers have done a fantastic job of supporting the game post-launch, with regular updates that add new content and balance tweaks to keep the gameplay fresh and engaging.

Sony, you have a good thing going right now. I’m prepared to forgive you for the misstep, but please don’t mess this up again.
