Oh boy I've been waiting a long time for today.

Back in the good old days there was a game "Starfighter: Disputed Galaxy." It was hosted on Kongregate, and to say it was the staple of my childhood would be putting it mildly.

It was a simple game on the surface, blow up some aliens to rank up, buy new ships and outfit them with new weapons. But it went deeper, as you got better so did your enemies, and you evolved along with them. There was a massive map to explore with hidden planets and anomalies that could either destroy you, or send you across the galaxy. If you ever got bored, you could head to the nearest co-op or multiplayer sector to see if anyone wanted to team up, or fight.

This game turns all of that up to 11. The map may not have appeared to change much, but now there are warp gates that take you to entirely new regions with completely new maps and mysteries to discover! A new crafting system lets you create weapons with unique qualities to demolish foes in spectacular ways. Multiplayer is now everywhere, travel with your friends, ambush some unsuspecting aliens or humans, work together to kill massive bosses. Just when you think you are done with this game, you will find something new.

To new players who never experienced the previous game, you are in for a whole new world. The previous game was a type of top down space shooter that absolutely nothing else can replicate, it's just way too much fun. I searched for over a decade trying to find a replacement for that game after it went offline, I failed.

Go for it, every second of combat is pure joy.
