This is coming from a Fan of Hades 1.

I try not to leave negative reviews but I think Hades 2 deserves it (at least my personal experience). The game just doesn't feel replayable to me. Here are my major issues:

- lore-wise, my problem isn't even what seems to be a common issue - the fact that the protagonist is a female. No, my problem is that the protagonist (was her name Melinoe? I barely remember after 20 hours of gameplay) is just boring, characterless, spoiled brat. I mean nothing about her makes me feel cool while slaying foes. Instead I am just bombarded with cringy phrases periodically. 'You didn't see that coming.' Bet. And that doesn't go only for the protagonist. Also the lady that teaches us stuff (forgot her name) is also just generally not likeable. We destroy her every fight but yet still has the same hubris every time we face her like she owns us. An so on. I won't comment on the other characters because it's basically the same feedback. Only (spoilers) Hades remained cool. Oh and Cerberus. Although they did my boi dirty still.

- gameplay-wise: I mean it's fine. It's pretty similar to Hades 1 which is good. But the boons feel quite underwhelming to me. All the builds I've experimented with so far are quite boring as I am mostly just upgrading my Attacks on every weapon. I feel like most other upgrades are just not worth it. The amount of times I've picked a boon because no other boons is good at all is staggering. Apart from that, many many times I take damage from projectiles I don't see because there are I guess a lot of enemies at later floors. Quite annoying really.

Overall the game feels a mediocre rogue-like at best. No captivating story, no engaging gameplay, moderately cool villain and overall woke ahh game.
