Good game, keeps the core identity of Frostpunk 1, difficulty and ethical questions, but progresses from a colony manager to something more akin to City Skylines with resource management. The story is fun and the two primary routes through the game have a bigger effect on how you play and build the city as opposed to Frostpunk 1 where Faith and Order were basically the same thing.

There are a few issues though, the biggest being the game lacks optimization. Once your city gets big enough the frame drops start to show up. It doesn't cripple the game but it is noticeable. The UI could also be a bit more clear, took me a bit longer than it should have to learn how to trade resources between my outposts and main city. And the menu for transferring citizens should let input a number instead of just being a slider, it makes accurate transfers harder than it needs to be.

I can't wait to see more from the devs, since the post release content for Frostpunk 1 was so good.

Nice blend of Risk of Rain 2's rouge-lite mechanics, Titanfall 2's movement and gunplay, a banger af soundtrack, and the Pack-a-Punch machine for good measure. Buy it you cowards.

Instead of playing a game made by people who hate you, why not go read some interesting Wikipedia articles, like:

Breast-Shaped Hill
List of sexually active popes
Pizza Farm

Cneoridium dumosum (Nuttall) Hooker F. Collected March 26, 1960, at an Elevation of about 1450 Meters on Cerro Quemazón, 15 Miles South of Bahía de Los Angeles, Baja California, México, Apparently for a Southeastward Range Extension of Some 140 Miles

Waffle House Index
Pykrete
Nuclear Pasta
Sex in Space
Cats that look like Hitler
Chicken Gun
The 1904 Men's Marathon Summer Olympics
Jack Churchill
Toyota War
D-Day Daily telegraph Security Alarm
Toilet Paper Roll Orientation
Gay Bomb

Reading any of these would be a better use of your time than playing this game.

It's like Stellaris Lite with some Galactic Civilizations mixed in, overall I'd recommend it but I'd probably be best to wait for a sale. As of right now the game is a start to finish experience, but there are aspects of the game that are poorly explained, tedious, and is very confusing to even experienced 4X players but hopefully while in EA these problems will be fixed.

For example, the way the game handles Tall and Wide playstyles. The game HEAVILY penalizes playing Tall since one of the games objectives is to capture 6 specific planet types and they're very spread out, forcing you to expand quite a bit, and the way the game tries to penalize overextention does so in such a terribly poor way that just taking even more territory completely negates the penalties of taking too much territory and the penalties it does apply nukes any attempt to play tall.

It's done through a system called Happiness, and the way it's implemented is just confusing. There are 2 types of happiness, short term and long term. Short term is what is applied so when it's above 30ish percent you won't take any debuffs. Long term is the happiness rest point and what short term will gravitate towards. But the long term happiness is tied to how much territory you own, so if you have too much territory your long term happiness takes a hit. Makes sense so far, but the natural decay of short term is so slow it's worthless to even bother with long term happiness since all you need to do is take an enemy system and bam you've got 10% extra short term and it takes 5 turns for it to disappear. But for reasons beyond understanding, if you want to change the buildings on a planet you've just captured to better optimize it, or make a new shipyard planet, you lose short term happiness. So if you want to micromanage your colonies and settlements you'll quickly lose all your short term happiness and suffer from rebellions and a 50% decrease to production that takes upwards of 15 turns to stabilize, but only if you have a long term happiness above 25%. This also applies to handing off territory to allies, you lose short term, so it's not even worth trying to manage long term happiness. As it stands you'll end up with a massive clumsy empire, weak allies since giving them territory hurts you to an extreme degree, and in a constant state of war.

If reading that confused you don't worry you're not alone, the happiness system makes no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense. Hopefully the devs are willing to fix this cause the game does have a lot of potential.

So, as far as horror games go this is a pretty good one. Thanks Pyrocynical.

It's hard to describe this game given I'm not that into the horror genre. I'm a huge wuss and it took me longer than it should've to complete this game. But what I can tell you is that this game has such an amazing atmosphere to it. The sounds, the lighting, map design, it all comes together to really mess with your mind in the worst ways possible. The fear of the unkown is a powerful thing and this game really taps into that fear and then some.

On a technical stand point this game is a bit iffy. For the most part the game worked as intended and perfectly fine. But I did have the occasional problem with clipping through walls, getting stuck, or enemies not working as intended. It's a bit frustrating but the game does a good job at sprinkling save points around the map so you won't ever lose too much progress.

Combat is fine, nothing too special. The game finds a pretty good balance at making you feel not completely helpless but still in serious danger. Though the shotgun just sucks. I know it's a riot shotgun and spits salt but come on giving us a shotgun that doesn't blow everything away is just sacrilege. The health bar could have been more obvious though, I didn't even know one existed until like half way through the 2nd level.

I'd definetly reccomend this game to any horror fans. It's a fantastic experience and you're sure to get your money's worth with it. For those like me who never really play horror games, give it a shot. Play the game in small doses and pace yourself. No need to finish it all in one go.

The Station was an okay game but I can't reccomend it at it's current price.

It reminds me a lot of Tacoma in the idea that it's got a narative and is kind of a walking simulator. Though it's got some interesting puzzles I'm sad they weren't touched up on a bit more. Visually it looks good and audio is great but with the voice actors it's kind of a dice roll on quality. The game does touch up on a subject I'd like to see more of in Sci-Fi on the idea of weather or not contacting a primitve species is a good idea.

All in all it was a good experience but like Tacoma I feel like it'd be best to buy it on a sale or something.

Lightings also pretty good.
