I got this game reduced feeling quite pleased with myself; then within 30 minutes I had bought all four dlcs at full price in a demented fit of enthusiasm because awesome.

The guns feel punchy, the pulse rifle sounds just like the one in the movie, the impact animations are so satisfying, and your AI teammates are super effective. At walking directly into your line of fire in almost every single firefight and then complaining about getting hit.

When I completed the campaign on standard and got my Exemplary Service Ribbon, I let out an involuntary primal howl. I’m terrible at shooters you see. On the back of my obvious resurgent skill, I immediately started the campaign in “intense” feeling confident. I honestly can’t pin down a specific point I struggled with because it seemed like everything. I often die in ways I seriously doubt the game engine had considered, and I could have sworn my AI companions looked visibly annoyed more than once.

Overall though it’s a glorious representation of the Aliens universe and I can’t recommend it enough it’s gorgeous.

It’s short. But you have to level stuff up and I have low standards when it comes to the maps in this game. This is because Aliens Fireteam Elite allows you to level up a good number of classes and a large range of cool weapons complete with attachments, not to mention specific abilities with your chosen role itself. I have not even begun to get bored yet. I realise replay value is more prevalent when you die all the time, but even for a fairy small number of maps, for me, it’s worth every penny.
