The Steam Summer Sale starts

"You're gonna die, boy"

Not quite as big as the Uber Update (or maybe it is bigger), but Valve has decided another huge update with which to grace TF2 gamers this Summer. Their trump card is meet the pyro, expect it Wednesday (along with the update's other goodies).

Remember to look 6 ways before crossing the street - A pyro may be equipped with backburners :)

As i look at my Steam friends list, i am reminded of how mature McQuaid alumni are, as half of you now have names that are sexual innuendos. 2 points for maturity guys.

That said, it is good to see most of you have not died from the term's end. I have been quite busy up to this point.

Two items I want you guys to consider:

1) Meeting in person, it would be good to get together again in person this summer and talk about our explosive (or boring, non-explosive) first years at college.

2) It would be good to have another game night, the one during Spring break was acceptable, but I would love to have a bigger game night. As always, it does not have to be specifically TF2, although as it is free, that is a plus.

I am not asking for a doctoral thesis, just a simple response, email, etc. detailing your thoughts, I would like to schedule a game night by the week of memorial day (that is to say, plan out a day by then, not necessarily playing then). The meeting in person thing can be handled leisurely.

And for the billionth time, I do not have Facebook or Twitter and I am not going to, so please email me any decisions made on either of those mediums.

Also, I am going to start to do maintenence on the older posts, if no one seriously objects.

One last match before the final push to the end of the year

Everyone has played TF2 enough now that we all have all our own little preferences. So taking people's gameplay styles into account, I have come up with a list of map candiates:

I think the primary focus should be on payload and koth maps due to popular demand and fun. 2Fort willl be frowned upon, unless an overwhelming demand for it arises. Any custom maps are welcome but LET EVERYONE KNOW IN ADVANCE. Any servers that have reasonable respawn times (i.e less than 15-20 sec), but that are NOT premium servers will be acceptable (Use those handy server tags to find good choices). But, we all like similar servers, so just list a favorite of yours.

Officially this is tomorrow night @ 7 PM EST. In reality, it will kind of last all weekend. If you are available and you see someone you know online, find a favorite server and send out invites. The best groups form on their own, but make sure tosend invites to anyone online.

I am inviting some of my other Steam friends to fill up our group, please do the same with your Steam friends (and someone invite Crosby, I think he would enjoy playing too). As I am expecting a crowd of mixed people (including potential Free-to-Players) the best communication may be on servers with All-Talk, although I will open the group chatroom at 7 PM.

Trades are welcome (I have a ton of junk myself to give away), but remember some may only be able to accept trades (free-to-players).

If people have any preferences with cheap items/levels speak now or forever hold your peace.
