Gassy German Maids
I was also hoping to get some insight into poisonous gas for 2.0.

1. Will Mustard Gas sink and stay in low lying areas. (don't think this is possible in source but worth asking I suppose)

2. Will different teams have different types of gas or be able to switch between different gasses (mustard gas, chlorine gas, tear gas, and White Star)

3. I know that the french did this early in the war but would tear gas (xylyl bromide) grenades be able to be carried by one of the classes.

4. Will the gas be more opaque this time around. SO that it wouldn't just be used as a weapon but also a smoke screen.

5. And Last but deffinitely not least. Is there a possiblity of having gas cloud drift? Now this one sounds rather difficult in my opinion but this was one of the pivotal features of gas in world war 1 in which you could launch it slightly in front of a trench use it as a smoke screen and let it drift into the enemy trench.

Thank you world war 1 source team for setting this up and thank you for dedicating your time to all of our dream mod.

We won't change a whole lot of the actual behaviour of the gas as we feel like it worked pretty weill in 1.13b and previous versions. What we will change however, is how the gas mechanics work all together. Your gas mask takes longer to get on, and if you inhale any of it it has a bit more of a brutal effect on the player than it had in 1.13b. Your screen will blur up, and you will slowly lose HP while the game plays some pretty dramatic coughing and choking sounds. We want to make the gas in the game a pretty grousome weapon in a way, and we will probably go into detail a whole lot more about it in a later update. And yes, the current particle we use for the gas-attack should allow for some cover.
You know an even better mechanic that's probably completely impossible for the source engine?

Making mustard gas not effect you until your next session. Mustard gas takes about 12 hours to take affect.
