Ubisoft Entertainment

A French company specializing in the development and publication of computer video games, the main office of which is located in Montreuil, France. The company includes studios in more than 20 countries, among them the USA, Canada, Spain, China, Germany, Russia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Romania and Italy. Ubisoft is one of the largest gaming publishers in Europe.

Five brothers Guymo founded Ubisoft in 1986 in France. Yves Guillaume soon established business with Electronic Arts, Sierra On-Line and Microprose to publish their games in France. At the end of the decade, Ubisoft expanded into other gaming markets, including the US, UK and Germany.

In 1994, Ubisoft opened their own game development studio in Montreal (Canada), which later became their main office. In the same year Michel Ansel created the game Rayman, whose main character, Rayman, appears in Ubisoft's games so far. In 1996, Ubisoft opened additional offices in Shanghai and Montreal.

In 2000, Ubisoft acquired American studio Red Storm Entertainment, a game developer based on books by Tom Clancy. In 2001, the company acquired Blue Byte Software, known for the Settlers series. In 2003, he buys the rights to the popular brand Sword and Magic and its offshoot, in particular the Sword and Magic: Heroes. On October 5, 2009, Ubisoft acquires a small, newly established Nadeo studio, founded in 2000, which is known for the projects TrackMania, Virtual Skipper, ShootMania and QuestMania. In 2003, the company's employees worked already in 22 countries. Ubisoft has created several successful and award-winning games, including Assassin's Creed, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, XIII, Far Cry 2, Rayman 3, Raven Shield and Beyond Good & Evil .
