Will there be an API for this to see what cards a user has? Will be considering using it.

When does the beta start releasing? When will extra invites start going out?

Will there be possiblity to set custom profile background instead of stock ones that will be added?
I'd really like put on some anime background on profile and i'm curious if it will be possible or not.

Are Steam Cards dictated by achievements earned in the game or do they randomly drop? I would prefer both.

"Trading Card drops are currently just tied to playtime within a game, independent of which achievements you are getting. "
From the FAQ.

I see the FAQ mentions time played and a measurement of how much you invest in Steam, but I don't see whether or not it's retroactive. I've already put over 2600 hours into TF2 prior to this happening, I guess that doesn't count?

Does a VAC ban have any influence over any of this? Other than not being able to get the trading cards for that game.

Do you have to play those heroes in Dota 2 or do you get the card by just playing any hero?

I uninstalled the game and it's no longer in my Libary. How do I add it back?

Can the badge requirements be retroactive? Like for the community pillar I've already bought and sold on the steam market, upvoted things on greenlight, read guides etc but none of these show up, only the requirements that I'd completed when I first got community pillar. I really don't want to have to do all these things over again.

And I posted new status updates and discussions since I got in the beta but none of that shows up on the badge progress.

Was it a free to play game? If you uninstall something like Planetside 2, it will remove itself from your library. If you go into your games list on your profile, it will still show the game and say "___ hours on record", and it will be dark grey instead of light grey, meaning that it isn't currently installed.

I was never able to launch the game, which is why I uninstalled it. It's for the this Beta, so I can't find where to try and reninstall it.

I'm guessing no, considering there is usually a data point that records those values. Unless they prepared ahead of time when they released greenlight, but they probably didn't.

I have a question for you though. It is a similar question, but I'm not in the beta yet... Are the hours retroactive? I'm not asking about if my hours will be removed for anything, but will I get cards for the hours I have already played, or do I have to go pump a bunch more hours into those games?
