This is NOT a Nazigroup!The iron cross is still given to soldiers in the Bundeswehr(of course without the Naziemblem) for great courage.
There are also iron cross like medalls in the british and american militaries.



This special one was given only to one Person at the 1st January 1945 to the Stukapilot Hans-Ulrich Rudel, it is the iron cross 1st class with golden leaves and diamonds. He destroyed more than 800 motorized ground vehicles, more than 150 antiair and antitankpositions,4 armored trains,1 battleship,1destroyer,1cruiser,many uncounted bunkers,bridges and supportlines and he won 9 airbattles.He flighted 2530 missions and his plane was hit 30 times by antiarifiring but he could save himself everytime.
In his time as pilot he was wounded 5 times.Caused by antiairfire his lower leg had to be amputated but he still flighted even as Hitler himself, prohibited him from flying, he was still flying illegal to help his team and saved several crews to be killed at enemy ground.Thanks to his help 6 shoot-down plane crews could escape.With the 7th his gunner Erwin Hentschel with whom he flighted mor than 1400 missions, drowned at the 20th march 1944 in the freezed Dnjestr(a river)while escaping enemy troops. At mai the 8th in 1945 , meanwhile he was colonel and leader of the Schlachtgeschwader 2 (SG 2) „Immelmann“,he flew with his squadron from Böhmen to Kitzingen and there he capitulated to the allied forces. He died at december the 18th in 1982 in Rosenheim before that he was unfortunately a NS-escapehelper,arms dealer and supported the DRP.





But this group is more a tribute to the courage to all whom worn an iron cross ever, before the Nazi time and after it.
