Group A is near its end; reminders about playoff progression

Group A is nearly over but I will update everyone on how the tournament has proceeded so far in case you've missed out on the matches.

• Suco de Laranja is the second highest ranked team in Group A and have so far had a flawless record with three wins in the group stage so far. They defeated fellow Brazilian team, La Buena Onda 6-1 on Fistful; Osteoporosis 6-3 on Desperados and 6-0 against Zorro's Fighting Legion on Fistful. Osteoporosis' and Zorro's Fighting Legion's opening matches were against Suco de Laranja, though Osteoporosis have managed to recover for the most part. Zorro's Fighting Legion have yet to play their other matches.
  
  
• Osteoporosis is the highest ranked team in Group A, below Chitch's Wild Bunch, craZy_y0 & Friends and mli's Riders of the Storm. Despite losing their opening match, they have been able to take close wins against La Buena Onda and Team Worldwide. Both matches were played on Cripplecreek and La Buena Onda fell 4-6 while Team Worldwide fell 5-6 - all despite former Valentine Riders player Woomy subbing in for Trinity, in their latter match.
  
  
• Team Worldwide have so far had a fairly decent record for the matches that they have played, attaining a 6-3 win against La Buena Onda on Sweetwater while losing to 5-6 to Osteoporosis fielding a stand-in for their team leader. They are Suco de Laranja's last opponent in the group stage.
  
  
• Zorro's Fighting Legion have yet to show their full strength as they have only got a 0-6 loss to Suco de Laranja to their name. It will for sure be exciting to see what El Zorro X's team have to offer in their later matchups, also considering that his team are Osteoporosis' last opponents to face.
  
  
• Finally, La Buena Onda are sitting in last place with an almost certain elimination unfortunately. They have amassed three defeats with no victory to their name. They lost to Suco de Laranja 1-6, Team Worldwide 3-6 and Osteoporosis 4-6; their last match is against Zorro's Fighting Legion before they bow out of the tournament.
  
  
• Outside of Group A, matches have already began in Group B and Group C. The Hayseed Hoodlums defeated replacement team, RC_Squad in Group B's opener. Meanwhile; Shugazi, Deal Duck and Bugmasters have played matches against eachother with Deal Duck taking wins against both teams while Shugazi was also able to win against Bugmasters. Over to the Pacific side of things, The Rurouni Ka-Lan took a default win against Peppa Pig who have since dropped out of the tournament.
  
  
• Speaking of teams disbanding and dropping out, The Blue Shirts and Peppa Pig have both sadly pulled out. There are no teams to replace them, this as a result means that Deal Duck, Shugazi, The Wild Bunch and Bugmasters will receive default wins against The Blue Shirts. On the other hand, craZy_y0 & Friends, Beautiful Chinawares and The Diaper Babies will also receive default wins against Peppa Pig.

Here's where the juicy bit begins, determining who proceeds to the playoffs. Just to jog your memory, the playoff is a double elimination bracket and all eight teams to make it start in the upper bracket. Losing in the upper bracket sends you to the lower bracket and if you lose there, you're eliminated. One team makes the finals from the upper bracket, while the other makes them from the lower bracket.

The top two teams from each group which advance to the playoffs. Though, we as organizers have decided that in the case of a group tiebreaker, the corresponding teams will rematch against eachother in best-of-three series' but the maps will be shorter meaning that the first team to four rounds wins the map. The tiebreakers will be determined by whether more than one team has the same record, for example: two teams have two wins and two losses, or three teams have three wins and one loss. If these outcomes are met then we will hold tiebreaker matches to determine who makes the playoffs and/or acquires the high seed.

The tiebreaker matches will happen when the group stage has concluded since this will be the best way to determine whether the tiebreaker needs to be played out.
