SteamPressure probably isn’t coming back, but I am thinking up something similar. If there was something in SteamPressure that you really found useful speak up and I'll consider putting it into the new thing I have in mind.

You may have already noticed, but SteamPressure is currently non-operational. The reason for this is that it was taking way too long to figure out which games to show and using too much CPU time to do it. Most of what was displayed had to be taken from separate parts of the database and combined, so when I have time I'll see if I can redesign it to work faster.

I’ve just updated SteamPressure to make it easier to look at which games you have or which games your friends have. Log in and go to games and you’ll see that the Your Games and Friends’ Games headers are now links: follow them to zoom in on just that list and have up to 4 across the page, which means more on the screen at the same time.

This is inspired by my preferring to use party mode with only myself in the party to view which multiplayer games I have, but then not being able to see how many of my friends have them. I also added a link to the games page (whether zoomed or not) to re-check your games list in case you’ve added a new game since SteamPressure last checked.

It’s been a while since SteamPressure got an update, plus it’s sometimes useful to have people on your friends list for reasons other than that you might actually play games with them. So I put up a preliminary friend importance feature where you can assign each of your friends a number for how much you want them to be counted when calculating the percentages that are displayed with the games.

So for friends that you wouldn’t play with, set them to zero and they won't count at all. For friends you frequently play with, set them to two and they’ll count double as much as your other friends, or go wild and set them to ten to have them count ten times as much. At this point only the basics are there, but it will get better eventually.

SteamPressure has a new party mode where you can add everybody at a LAN party or online gaming event and see all the games everyone at the party has. Sign in and click the big green party button on the front page to try it out! You can even add players that aren’t yet on your friends list.
