I am in a Space D&D game as a player, and we are open to new players. We aren't sure what our player limit really is.
Notices: It is very combat heavy, and rounds can take an hour or longer with many ships on the field, but the story is also very prominent. There are reasons we are fighting, in a fleshed out universe, even with fully fleshed out trading routes and such. Our nations are currently at war with old enemies, so there will continue to be a lot of combat (especially as we are each a captain of a military ship, or two).
Also, this game has been going on for almost a year now, so you'd be jumping in with an already leveled ship and not at the beginning of our group's story.
We have regular meetings, currently at 6:00 PM ET every Thursday and Saturday.
The GM can sometimes be a bit... weird... his flavor of things that happen on nat 1s are often very strange, while the rest of the universe is fairly normal.
This is both serious and silly RP, with us witnessing a child be publicly executed by a planetary governor for being the child of rebels (and then the child exploded), and also witnessing a moldy crepe fall out of the ceiling vent when rolling a perfect 100 on damage (which was then eaten by a player's first officer [by command of the player], and their next shot was a nat 20 [the ship has a history of missing most shots], so it is now CANON that the mold will cure space glaucoma).

This is very much a work in progress. I'm not sure how this is going to work.

I don't want every to have to make a Roll20 account so we can all play there, especially if you'e just going to play a quick or silly game that would just need communication between people.

There is only 1 chat room for a group, so having game held there will not work, especially for people jumping in.

I don't want to fill up the forums with games either, that seems silly, in a bad way. Inefficient.

I don't think trying to go to chat rooms online to have games is very effective.

Chatting w/ friends works, kind of. You have to be friends w/ everyone else you want to play with though, and if a Game Master wants to tell something to one player in particular, but not the rest, it won't really work...

Not everyone has Skype either.

I some of most of these should be used: Roll20, chat room (a VERY quick game only, probably very silly and random too. I would normally discourage this though. It will only be accepted at a game room when there are no people already in a chat room having a discussion, unless they all agree to it taking place there.); forums (what else are we going to put in there, besides the places that aren't for games, obviously... but I am concerned that I might cause confusion... I might want to make a better organization pattern.); chatting w/ friends, skype.

Can you guys even start a new discussion? I think so, but I'm asking just in case you can't. I want to fix that if you can't.

Also, everyone who is interested in serious RPGs, start thinking about making a Roll20 account. I won't say go ahead and make one, even though I would, but think about it. Additionally, read their EULA, its not scary. It's in plain english, not lawyer lingo. They even say that they don't like that legalese so they just set out their rules and stuff in simple terms.

It will most likely be quite some time before there are enough members to actually play with anyone, any time, and about anything.
