UNITED WE STAND, DEVIDED WE FALL!

This is Inventor 0's review of Quantum of Solice (game) - which we got sent a beta copy of from the publisher:

Just finished quantum of solace demo.

Its about five minutes long....

But there was some decent stuff. Health was interesting, you had a picture of your body in the corner that filled with grey as you were injured and restored itself to white pretty quickly, but you took a lot of damage from getting hit.

Good one touch cover system like GTA IV and Gears of War to hide behind pretty much anything you can across - the game is quite hard if you don't utilize cover.

When you start to get severly injured a gun barrel surrounds the screen, limiting your vision, and everything goes into greyscale. When you die blood drips over the screen.

Nice variety of weapons, but you can only carry one main weapon and one sidearm (pistol etc) and a few grenades. You can melee, and there are also quick time events to kill people instantly, which i couldn't quite figure out how to use.

You can feel the COD 4 behind it in terms of the first person shooting, and looking down the gun barrel when moving slowly for accurate fire feels almost exactly the same.

Pretty good quality graphics, not fantastic, but still not half bad. Everyone seems to go into rigor mortis or whatever its called when they die because many fall down strongly gripping the trigger, causing a sporadic spray of bullets everywhere kinda like Half Life 2/Portal turrets dying.

Guns and explosions made satisfying noises, background music wasn't that memorable.

Movie actors voicing the characters gives an authentic feel.

Overall opinion - Looks like it could be fun, but 'I was hoping for a tank, maybe even a helicopter.'
