I have recently experimented with multiplayer GTA games. Aside from GTA IV, MTA:SA is better than SA:MP.

MTA:SA has:
-Better Sync
-Map Editor
-Race Mode
-LUA Addons
-Better Health Bars

I must note there are two versions. The first is MTA: Race. This adds the race mode and race editor. The second is MTA: DM. This adds out-of-the-car abilities. However, the DM version is still beta.

If you install both, run MTA: DM and you can select many game modes including Race, DM, RPG, etc.

As a former fan of SA:MP, I must say they are beat. Custom content and non-slidey,non-laggy, non-spazzy and not annoying players beats SA:MP.

This group might be closed and a new one for MTA will be opened.
